Vitamin C can curb cancer growth, say New Zealand researchers

Please If you want to criticise at least try to get your facts straight.

Merck, Abbot, & GSK are pharma companies. Their products are usually controlled & only available by prescription from a doctor.

Nestle makes consumer products like coffee, You can find healthy specialty coffees at iHerb. Products which you will only find at health stores. While Nestle is targetting NTUC, Cold Storage

iHerb carries many brands of health products from Europe, US, Japan, Israel.. You will find some of the same products, sold in Spore at a higher price at Natures Farm.

HAHAHAHHAHHAHAHHAHA
HAHAHHAHAHHAHHAHAHHA

tell that to someone in gsk they only making pharma drugs
U GOT ANY FUCKING IDEA HOW BIG THEY ARE THEY ARE NOT

JUST use GSK as an example

other products they have - ribena, scotts emulsion.

you need dr prescription to drink ribena?

FUCKING MAKE ME LAUGH AT UR COMMENTS. DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY SUPPLEMENT PRODUCTS THEY HAVE A LOT.

it ranges from iron supplement to vitamins and even to pain relief. AND COMPANIES LIKE THIS ARE WHAT CONSUMERS CAN TRUST.

NOT SOME UNKNOWN COMPANIES THAT JUST POST TONS OF UNKNOWN SUPPLIERS/TESTING LAB, that NO ONE HEARD BEFORE.

FUCK YOU UNDERSTAND, IF YOU DON'T KNOW DON'T MISLEAD OTHERS

talk more and it will reveal how silly you are. nestle only sell coffee and dairy product you mean? HAHHAHAHAH FUCK YOU IGNORANCE PIG. GO FIND OUT THEIR REPUTATION IN LAB INDUSTRY.

give you this pig a fucking hint.
DO YOU THINK THEY HAVE ONE OF THE BEST TESTING LAB IN THE WORLD JUST TO SELL DAIRY PRODUCT? you brainless piece of shit.

let me put it in this way. The website has a lot of testing lab. NONE OF THEM ARE WELL KNOWN. NONE OF THEM ARE ACCREDITATED IN AMERICA, if it is they will display it. NONE OF THE SUPPLIER IS WELL KNOWN IN ANY FOOD AND DRUG INDUSTRY OR CHEMICAL INDUSTRY (food grade).

go ahead kill yourselves if you guys wish to trust him.

EVEN FOR SUPPLEMENT, get from reputated pharma companies and not some websites that is promoted by some black hearted forumer

How about putting your points across without mentioning brands or their website. A website with no preference to a particular brand would send a stronger message than any article from the company promoting their own brand.:)

I'm trying to make it easy for people to DIY as they can see what kind of real products are available in the market & the cost in the US. They can then do comparison shopping with the stores in Spore & other internet sites.

The product description at iHerb is very detailed indicating the dosage of the capsules/tablet, whether it's vegetaran friendly, number of capusles & most importantly the price. There are also users feedback included under "comments"

This is particularly important for Sporeans as many products are not available in Spore & even if available, would cost more.

The Life Extension Magazine provides useful information & not proprietary information. Thats probably why you can find it in the Spore public library. With this information you can then decide which supplements are of interests & then go to any health store to get them.

.....

GSK is a name you brought up not me.

When was the last time you bought a supplements from GSK
I've looked in Spore & never seen a GSK branded vitamin C, vitamin E,..., in Spore.

This same company has a dubious record:rolleyes:

This is the same company that was fined in 2007 for "misleading conduct" over ribena.

There are also problems over some of their pharma products such as Paroxetine & Avandia. The important thing is that there are suspicions that GSK knew about the problems & tried to hide it

You can read about the details of their misdeeds in:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GlaxoSmithKline

You seem to think that larger corporations are more trustworthy :D
I would rather trust a company's track record than size.
Take for example Now Foods, it is a family owned business. The family uses the very same products which they sell.

other products they have - ribena, scotts emulsion.

I would like to warn people who are taking Scotts emulsion fish oils.

If you look at the box theres no indication whatsoever whether it has gone through any process to remove pollutants like mercury,.... It may have been a fine product in the past but today the sea is very polluted.

Many companies do indicate the process they are using e.g. molecular distillation.

I like GSK Scott's cod liver oil capsules (vitamins A, D and omega-3) and berry pastilles (vitamin C). There's also nothing wrong with Ribena as a product; it was just some marketing manager who gone overzealously dishonest with his adverts.

With large companies there are more chances of anonymous employees cutting corners to make the bottom line look good.

I've drunk my share of ribena because I dislike the taste of plain water & not because I was interested in the vit C . I was a heavy coke, pepsi, ribena drinker :(

However when it comes to health products I'm more fussy because one cannot play, play with one's health.

Until they put it in black & white, I'll avoid their products especially when other companies do indicate their products have been 'molecularly distilled'.

when things goes wrong with big companies we know who to look for.

when things goes wrong with product people buying from internet, all you have to do is disappear as johnny333.

There's nothing so wrong with large companies, especially British ones since empire and wave-ruling days. Ever wonder all these stuffs seem to come from the Brits? They came up with all sorts of storable nutritional products for their sailors and soldiers who went out in the wild for months even years at a shot. Well, nobody's perfect and a blip now and then is unavoidably expectable. Smith Kline Beecham (now Glaxo Smith Kline) fed enough soldiers to win a quarter of the world and two world wars. Scott's, Ribena, Horlicks etc. are grandparents' household names with or without advertsing campaigns.

Smaller companies are more focused on their products & customers. When things go wrong there's nowhere to hide.

However when something goes wrong in a larger company, there will be alot of finger pointing & some scape goats will take the fall. Management can easily hide calling it an underlings mistake :)

Haven't you seen that in Astars:confused:

.

Basically, if I eat a GSK pill and drop dead, I have no regrets, since millions eat them too. If I eat a Johnny333 pill and drop dead, I must be mad and deserve to be dead!

Some people like Vamjok think bigger is better than smaller companies.

Making such assumptions is kind of simplistic.
As many of these companies started small & were bought over by larger ones to diversify their product lines, leverage economies of scale, etc

Before you drop dead, I will drop dead first because I am a customer of iHerb:D

glad you people know even BIG companies like GSK WITH worldwide research groups and huge funding behind can screw up.

BUT you guys willing to trust an unknown company that no one heard before with your health. simply amazed.

go ahead and risk your health for all i care by buying those pills online. i doubt any strong clinical backiing test was conducted by these companies FOR they simply have no $$$ to do so.

go ahead and risk your health. stupidity has no cure

For vitamin C, I don't think there's need for expensive pharmacy supplements. Ribena drink or pastille should do nicely and sufficiently. Conveniently available, inexpensive and delicious.

How much fucking vit C does a god damn ribena drink have? 500mg?

Talk cock!

Based on your argument people should avoid small companies like Eu Yan Sang:eek:

Many of the TCM products have not undergone "clinical" testing
Are you telling people they should stop using TCM products because it has no clinical backing & not sold by a large corporation like GSK:confused:

Hi johnny so what service do u use to ship your stuff over?

I assume u order them from the US right?

I want to order some fish oil capsules from bodybuilding.com

They use fed ex and dhl i think.

The products are cheap but the damn shipping costs cost as much or even more than the product itself. Vpost also doesn't sound cheap too.

I'm just wondering if you have any other methods to ship.

PS do you have any other sites that sell this fish oil. Does iherb sell?

iHerb has over 6,000 products so you can usually find it at iHerb
I only order only from iHerb because they are reliable & reasonably priced.

On orders below US$80( & non-bulky) they'll charge a flat rate of US$4 & ship by US post. No gst & no service charge.

Anything over US$80 they'll give you the option to choose DHL or UPS. DHL is cheaper. They use to have a flat rate of US$23 but on my last order I notice I was charged $26 for products weighing a total of 20kg. If shipping by courier have to factor in the DHL service charge of SIN$10 & gst on total order collected by the deliveryman.

They do give discounts based on amount of total order from 4% to 17%.
For orders up to $80 discounts is usually 4%

Can consider:
Nordic Naturals Ultimate oil or one of the Krill oils
