While other sinkies older than him are doing mobility exercise collecting cardboards

They should sign up for gym memberships. Otherwise, just go to the ActiveSG gyms at the community centers. It's very cheap and completely non-partisan.

With all the balls carrying that you do, you have ample weight training.

I still maintain my regular weights training and doing push ups. It keeps me strong and able to kick oppie butt any day. But I would like a training regime that would make me look like Chris Helmsworth.

I thought what? Who can't do this?

Dead lifts are one of the tougher but effective exercises.

Anyway he's doing the slightly easier version with the trap bar, instead of a usual bar bell.

Usually it's lifting twice your body weight, old farts and beginners can attempt lighter weights.

For slightly more than a year now, I have added weight training, to my exercise routine.

After some months of training, (with Covid interruptions), I did a test to see what weight I can carry.

Here is a video, it starts with my attempt at 80kg, and then increased weights, going up to 105kg - my body weight is 70kg, so 105 kg is 150 % of my body weight. [This was when gym training, with masks off, was allowed for a period, last year]

We have to encourage more people to exercise - walk, go to the gym, swim, do something to move. And add weight training, for strengthening bones, other benefits. For older persons it helps reduce muscle loss. Good to have a varied routine.

Exercise is important to keep alert, be efficient at work, and to keep fit.
A healthy diet is also important.

In the next few months I am going to try and lift 120 kg.

Reality check: the lady you see in the gym, in background in the video weighs less than 50 kg and lifts 120 kg!
Yes, but can he lift my lancheow? Could be too heavy for him.

Where can I find this trap bar? Have never seen this in a gym.

Encouraging others to stay active and try different exercises is key. Weight training, especially as we age, can really help with maintaining muscle and bone strength. Keep up the great work and good luck with hitting that 120 kg goal!

Lifting 150% of your body weight is seriously impressive! Well, I'd say it just goes to show how sticking with your training really pays off.
If you’re thinking about taking it to the next level, some people use supplements to help out. You can always buy quality steroids with a credit card.
