i have nothing but respect, admiration and gratitude for Mr Lee,the founder of modern Singapore. Our saviour who singlehandedly, through blood, sweat, toil and tears,built the Singapore we know and have today. It gives me great concern that he is getting on in age, and will hopefully, no probably, die soon. but I take heart that he will be the foundation on which a new religion, Kuanyewism, will be found. And that he can fnally be the God that he so wanted to be.
Was not born yet when this nation achieved self government in 1959 but know for sure it was not some obscure fishing village. Many of our best boys and girls schools today such as RI, ACS and MGS were already in existence then educating our young people. Two of our local banking giants OCBC and UOB were established in the 1930s. Big corporations like Keppel and SingTel have been around in this country for over a century. We also have to give credit to our former colonial master for giving us an efficient civil service and top-notch legal system....
It amuses me that LKY claimed that Spore was just a fishing village. Before LKY took power Spore was already the 4th busiest port in the world.
That was definitely an understatement. Singapore had seven air bases (Changi, Paya Lebar, and Tengah were the big ones). Full oil refining capabilities, up to date water treatment facilities, auto-assembly plant (Ford), cement and brick foundries, refrigerated storage facilities, universty and hospitals, educated workforce, and back then, even talented musicians and artists that were eventually fucked over by the Ministry of Culture. Peesai would still be what it is today with or without the PAP or that LKY chap. They just stole the credit.

Nobody is perfect. Everyone carries genetic flaws and mutations. It part and parcel of the natural order of things.
However, the fact remains that they are the most talented family Singapore has ever seen.

This is a Lee loving forum. I started it in honor of the Lees. However, being a firm believer in free speech, I allow alternative views to be aired. It makes the forum more lively and entertaining.
The fact that the Lee family owns the whole of Singapore is irrefutable proof that they are the best and the brightest that Singapore has. If some other family was as talented as they are, the Lees would have been deposed of by now.
