A few years ago, I was firmly told off by a very irritated GP, because I told him I was no longer taking my statins, as I didn't consider they were appropriate for me. He raised his voice, and told me I'd clearly been reading too much rubbish on the internet, and that he didn't study Medicine at University for 6 years to be told by a patient that statins are not for me. Needless to say, I stood up, walked out, and refused to see that particular GP ever again, simply due to his aggressive bad tempered manner.
