A woman surnamed Song was not expecting to chow down on a piece of plastic glove when she bit into her McDonald's veggie wrap in south China's Fujian province. A manager gave Song coupons and asked her to delete the photos she had taken, according to our Chinese-language sister paper Want Daily.
The woman said on her microblog that she found a white and semi-transparent object while having lunch with a friend in the city of Fuzhou on June 6. Upon closer examination, she found the object appeared to be the finger of a plastic glove.
One of the store managers had a staff member take the rest of the wrap away, give her three coupons and ask her to delete the photos she took.
The manager emailed an apology to Song the next day but she felt the message was insincere. The store later issued a statement saying they can only apologize in an individual capacity, not on behalf of McDonald's. The head manager said the glove cannot be confirmed as coming from the store.
