it has been some time already, i really don't undertsand does MOM know about it or they just act stupid & dumb, since they need to pay more for WP, does that mean the close 1 eye for the $$$

MOM does know about it. I have emailed them alot on different occasions about employers falsifying work permit applications and also hiring illegals (especially FT students).I'm certain alot of others have informed them about it too. Let me tell you that I was surprised and shocked at their response. To cut the story short, MOM wanted me to do their dirty work for them. That was the last straw for me. I outta this shithole...

But value shops being in the heartlands can provide jobs for retirees, housewives and students or even the handicapped. Is the business district hiring these locals? No they are not. Are there highly paid jobs for these workers in Shanton Way? No.. Than why are heartlanders paying the price? Where are the locals who are less fortunate to work at?

At least here in Jb I live 5 minutes walk to a TESCO and 95% are locals made up of housewives, retirees, students, the disabled etc...

In peesai where are these people suppose to get their livelihood?

WHat the F. not single singaporean workin in the shop. MOM allows foreigner to open shop in singapore and then let them hire all their own people to run the operations? these kind of low class job need low class Foreign talent to man the shop???

Go to any pubs, restaurant, teleco..etc.. all happening in service industries, nothing uncommon.

And they'd be friendly with you especially if you can speak English well. I happen to be one of them I think so I have no serious problems with them.

Same case for CDC,my friend went to register for help to get a job.After some time
they call him to enquire whether he has looked n got a job himself ?They just want to close his file!!!

It is obvious tht something is wrong with the system.

How can you have a citizen work and his salary can be so low that he cannot even afford for himself 3 simple meals in the hawker daily and a small roof over his head?

just my 2 cents, these low level jobs, Singaporeans wont do as pay is low and working hours are long. There is no wrong in using foreign workers to supplement domestic labour.The problem comes in when F Trash takes away PMET jobs. that is the big issue.

Also, to me, if singaporeans are to take such low level jobs, it shows that Singapore has not advanced at all,,,,,,and all the economic development stuff is nothing but PAP crap.

I was told in Malaysia, the factory workers etc are mostly foreigners, the supervisors etc are local Malaysians.......that is what the PAP should be doing not replacing everyone with foreigners...

They want the local to have FT salary, but we local how can we survival on this low pay, they should have a min salary for local as for FT the pay will be lower, we need to support the local 1. Now is only the goverment and the landlord getting most of the $$$ and who own most of the land in Singapore + utility company+ phone company.
