USA beats China in both golds won and total medal tally.

And they did it with a population of only 250 million while China with 1.3 billion still lost out.

Even Graet Britain with a population of only 60 million managed to get three-quaters of what China got.

So if you look at it in terms of achievements per capita, USA and GB is centuries ahead making China look like village idiots/clowns/dunce.

China was backwards for the last 1000 years even though they had a headstart in technology 2000 years ago. So what went wrong?

Its the culture of selfish greed that held them back. The current spurt is due to them catching up with the rest of the technological world. Beyond that they will stagnate.

A society that still thrives on 'not prosper thy neighbour' can only consume but not build.

The western world is fuel by excellence, China, by results. Guess which will come out winners in the long run.
