Ulteiror Motive for fielding Tin Pei Ling

Many MIWs, especially those at the top, have kids who are around TPL's age. These MIWs would, of course, want their children to follow in their footsteps as "future" rulers of the land. However, being wary of how the voters will respond, TPL has been chosen as a guinea pig to test the ground. If she does well, the next GE will see descendants of incumbents standing as candidates.

This idea was mooted some time ago. In fact, most agreed that it was a certain Li she was paving the way for, in the same way that a certain albino is paving the way for possibly another.
