The man behind a terror bombing outside a UK hospital has been identified as an asylum seeker who converted from Islam to Christianity.

Emad Jamil Al Swealmeen was the only person to die in the explosion on Sunday outside the Liverpool Women’s Hospital.

The 32-year-old arrived at the hospital in a taxi from his home just before 11am.

Moments before the explosion, taxi driver Dave Perry noticed Al Swealmeen was holding a homemade bomb.

A quick-thinking Perry then leapt from the cab, locking his passenger inside, as the blast ripped through the vehicle, as seen in the video above.

Al Swealmeen died in the explosion and Perry was injured.

The 32-year-old had not been on the radar of security services and the motive behind the attack is unclear….

Al Swealmeen, who also reportedly went by the name of Enzo Almeni, had lived much of his life in Iraq, according to his friends.

In 2017, he converted from Islam to Christianity at an Anglican Cathedral.

For eight months, he lived with Malcolm and Elizabeth Hitchott – a devout Christian couple – at their home in Liverpool.

“He first came to the cathedral in August 2015 and wanted to convert to Christianity,” Malcolm said.

“He took an Alpha Course, which explains the Christian faith, and completed it in November of that year.

“That enabled him to come to an informed decision and he changed from Islam to Christianity and was confirmed as a Christian just before he came to live with us….

“We just loved him, he was a lovely guy,” she told the BBC.

I like your example 'Iraq'. I remember that when Saddam was still dictator, sunni moslems around our region and in the gulf supported him. The reason was simply because Saddam was a fellow sunni moslem like themselves.

As long as sunni saddam killed shi'ite moslems and kurds, all the other sunni moslems supported saddam and gave his regime full political and religious legitimacy. No moslem cleric, especially sunni clerics, ever called for saddam and his sons to account for the bloodshed. If possible, all accountability was pushed to the people who sold him weapons. Again, the reason was simply because saddam's weapons came from non-moslem arms dealers. moslems do not blame moslems when they can push the blame to non-moslems.

You can never count on other moslems to demand for justice from killers who share their same moslem religion. Their islamic religion teaches moslems to rally around murderers as long as the murderers share their islamic religion. And no, most sunni moslems do not view the shi'ite iraqis as moslems. Killing shi'ite iraqis is permissible for sunni moslems. And that's mainstream sunni islam, not radical ISIS or al-qaeda theology.
