Kumai Yurina joined Hello! Project in 2002 after passing the Hello! Project Kids audition.
She often is one of the lead singers in Berryz singles, and she is the tallest member of Hello! Project at 178 cm (5′10″).
It was announced on July 2009 that Kumai Yurina would be part of Tanpopo # along with Kamei Eri, Mitsui Aika, and Okai Chisato.
