TV discussion - Plasma, LCD, LED, OLED etc etc which one to get and why?

All LED tvs are LCDs. LED refers to the backlighting method.

When it comes to TV, just look for the best bargain regardless of the technology.

Far more important is the content.

Content as in features?

all this technology is good, but quality nowadays horrible....TV use 1-2 years will start giving problems

my Sony Bravia screen started to warp and ended up machiam like stretch marks immediately after 2 years....

My Sony LCD TV is still going strong after 6 years.

No as in the programs that are available. The best TV in the world is useless if you have to watch Mediacorpse productions the whole day long.

I've also found that it's better to spend extra money on the sound system rather than the display. A good sub woofer will do far more to enhance your audiovisual experience.

Knn so 4k is not the price? Nahbei no face liao.

Bro, 4K is not the price, but Ultra High Definition (UHD): better than Full HD (FHD). Also, remember to get those with built-in DVB-T2 tuner.
Thinking of getting a 55" 4K TV also, but can't decide whether a PANASONIC or LG. Advantages of LG are its time shift recording capability and passive 3D, but I still trust PANASONIC for durability.

you lucky.....I asked around and the best logical reason I found was that I had cleaned the screen with either too strong cleaner or the cloth I used had strong chemical residue....apparently, the screens are quite sensitive...

That's what happens when you jerk off too close to your TV.

4K TV doesn't mean cost $4000. It's the new standard. It's Ultra HD which is a step up from Full HD. If U want to buy TV just look out for one that says UHD or 4K TV. Anything else like Curve or 3D is just extra. As long as its UHD, the rest will be up to U, e.g. brand, budget, feature(all new TV should now be smart TVs). If U have Samsung phones, Samsung TVs will allow U to mirror the phone to the TV

55" tv? I looking for under 30" because family members want to watch different shows. cartoon for one, opera for another, drama and lastly I only watch documentary. cannot put 4 sets of 55" in a pigeonhole.

Hey guys, is there any guideline as in like 55" ideal viewing distance and 65" ideal viewing distance?

If you're watching porn, sit as far away as possible or your screen will be ruined too.
