TRE does a U-turn and pleaded for mercy with LHY

Initially Richard Wan came out firing with both guns, promising to challenge LHY legal action. But now he changed his mind, and appear more conciliatory toward LHY, and seems to be pleading with LHY not to sue him.

"For the record: TRE is not saying that Mr Lee Hsien Yang’s demands are unreasonable per se, but merely that if TRE were to accede to all his demands, it would open the floodgates to more of such demands in the future, rendering TRE practically impossible to continue with its operation, spending most of its time apologising. By setting such a precedent, other like-natured blogs will also be affected, directly or indirectly.

The team at TRE wish to reiterate again that TRE takes a very serious view of such unwarranted comments and is proactively taking steps to weed them out and delete them. But due to the nature of TRE being a forum for discussion and the amount of comments coming in per day in the thousands, sometimes such comments do slip through. Those affected are urged to please use our online form to contact us for immediate action. There is really no need to have to resort to issuing Letter of Demands on every occasion.
