IMHO, Simon James is just a really stupid FT. He should not have written about the difficulties of staying in JB, and working in SG. What he should have written is how SG productivity is being affected because those staying in JB are perpetually late and using the unpredictable jam as a reason, hence affecting SG business productivity.
In addition, he should have written about how SG companies which have set up shop in JB are finding it difficult to schedule their JB/SG meetings. They are either super early for their JB/SG meetings or super late. Again affecting productivity..... No offence, but I would prefer less FTs of James' calibre since his letter is really v lousy.....
Simon James may well be Simon s/o James
Hi need advice from kind souls here, what is the best time, not unearthly hours, to go into Johor from 2nd Link on a Sunday possibly this school holiday month?
Thanks in advance.

From JB to SG:
Reach JB checkpoint at around 745 am and cleared Woodlands around 840 am. Not too bad but lots of MY cars which slowed down the immigration counters. Hence the customs check area was v smooth. Heard that its Agong birthday today, and coupled with school holidays, many Malaysians may be visiting SG this weekend.
Would someone have time and energy, please lobby Authorities for answers and actions to,..
1. Why must the damn SG CIQ officer waste time & ask for name of passport holder, slowly ?
2. Why does the occasional SG CIQ officer, walk out of booth, and look at the other side fo the car - when later the customs check would have done a more thorough check ? !!!
3. Why deploy an AETOS officer to re-arrange cones, on bridge,..with no enforcement powers - whilst the many, many, many braver motorists take bus/mbike lanes and filter-in at the last minute, making jammms worse ?????!!!!
Singapore is demn f****** kia-soo, kia see.
Strive to be Efficient, but totally ineffective.
Thanks & Do have a Nice Day
You cannot question the enforcing officers. They have the power to haul out out and send you to their office for further questioning and checking of cars if they suspect you. I have seen many J-plate drivers kenna.
Do not question them on-the-spot,..BUT QUESTION THEIR SUPERIORS, BY WRITING IN, TELEPHOPNE,...ETC.,..
IT IS THE MANAGEMENT, POLICY-MAKERS, THAT FORCES THESE OFFICERS TO BEHAVE THE WAY THEY DO.
The officers by right should check thoroughly. Our border security should be enforced
To relieve the jam, one way is to construct more booths or additional links but it will take several years. Alternatively less people cross the links can help to reduce congestion but 2.6 exchange rate is too attractive to ignore (might weaken further).
