i’m partly neanderthal and denisovan. i learn all my nonya and malay kueh cooking (and steaming) on my own from trial and error. the durian kueh is a first time success. can’t go wrong with a whole durian as top layer - more concentrated than what one gets in sg.your style of baking looks like you are a Peranakan or nonyanese.
This kueh lopis looks good, very similar to the one i love eating at a malay canteen for staff in the old bukit timah racecousre in the 80s.
Too much sugary drinks since young. Lucky they now realise sugar is bad and cutting down.Now you know why most of them are obese and diabetic.
