Trader burnt to death in his own car
IPOH: A businessman was found dead with his mouth taped with duct tape in his four-wheel drive, that was set on fire by his assailants. The charred remains of S. Jagadesan, 34, from Taman Botani near here, was found in the passenger seat of his car, which was parked at the Kinta Jaya Light Industrial Estate near Taman Medan lapangan Idaman in Kampung Rapat here early yesterday morning.
Perak CID chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Mohd Dzuraidi Ibrahim said the Fire and Rescue Department had to be called in to put out the fire during the 1.15am incident. “We are still investigating the motive for the incident,” he said.
Jagadesan’s widow K. Kavitha, 32, said she last saw her husband on Wednesday evening at 10pm. “He told me he wanted to go to Kuala Lumpur and Johor on a business trip,” she said when met at the Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun mortuary. Jagadesan, added Kavitha, ran a transport business.
