Hanks says he's made four "pretty good" movies

In September 2022, while being interviewed by People magazine, Hanks said, "No one knows how a movie is made, though everyone thinks they do. I've made a ton of movies - and four of them are pretty good, I think."

And he really loved making three movies!

While he didn't elaborate in his interview on which four movies he felt were "pretty good," he was quoted in an appearance on The Bill Simmons Podcast in November 2021 about his three most favorite films in his career. He didn't rate them based on their popularity or success but "by way of the personal experiences that I had while I was doing them," Hanks explained.

The Money Pit (1986)

At #20, for those old-school Tom Hanks fans, we have 'The Money Pit.' He plays the part of a young, madly in love newlywed, married to actress Shelley Long. They buy their dream mansion and decide they will fix it up with laughable results.

got any martial arts?

truth be told except for old hongkie productions, good quality martial arts is completely nonexistent worldwide.

nowhere else do you see martial arts or stunts actions and fights close to that calibre.

now thanks to tiong take over, hongkie media has gone down the proverbial ceca gutter.

tiong media is atrocious rubbish in its purest form. it looks like an upgraded form of stinky media.

forget about ceca media - dancing behind coconut trees?

forget abt japs - jav
forget abt gooks - plastic, can melt anytime in hot weather. too much plastic.

turkish media - girly and lacking in depth, not really their fault since they dont have historical depth. who's their equivalent of confucius? what's their equivalent of martial arts or stunts action or fights?

stinkypura the less said the better.

i can't expect any of these countries listed to produce the fight scenes in red cliff, or hard boiled, killer, martial arts of 80's 90's hongkie, stunts of that era. actions and fights.

even a pretty well known effeminate actor like andy lau known for his singing could pull off some slick moves in his action scenes during his youth. can't expect to see that from hollywood.

and that's just andy lau, sb on the more effeminate side.

damn beginning to feel older now.

if you've to go back to 80s or 90s or even 70s for good content you know quality of media esp martial arts fights action stunts have declined severely - GLOBALLY.

to be fair, it was ONLY Hongkong which excelled in these aspects.

since hongkies have fallen, ther'es no one else to take up the mantle.

He is one of the few Angmoh actors that I know, which means he is very famous.

Cloud Atlas (2012)

'Cloud Atlas,' our #19 pick, is described on IMDB as "an exploration of how the actions of individual lives impact one another in the past, present, and future." It is quite a dense movie, perhaps calling for not one but multiple viewings to unpack it all.
