Today's Scripture Reading

Today’s Scripture Reading [May 8, 2011]

And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God. And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. [Revelation 19:6-10. KJV]

Getting united with someone whom you have missed for a long time is not something that many people had the chance to experience it. We heard moving stories of people who were separated because of war and were later united with their loved ones. Without exception, every one of us longed to meeting our loved ones who have departed from this earth. The greatest consolation that we as Christians have is that though our loved ones have departed from this earth, our union with them is fully assured of because the Bible says that at the return of Jesus Christ, everyone who has been a faithful follower of Him will be raised in the "first resurrection" (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18). We, the faithful believers and they (prayerfully they are faithful believers too) will be unted and nothing can separate us from henceforth. It must be noted that the union is not just between our loved ones and us but the union is also with our Saviour (Revelation 20:6).

While we are here on earth, whether we admit it or not, every one of us longed to meeting our ideal life-partner and hoping that one day we can be united with our life-partner through this institution of marriage. Weddings (or marriages) can be a spectacular affair. We read in newspaper, parents of the ultra-rich spent tens of millions of dollars hosting wedding receptions for their children. The opulence that displayed at the recent Royal Wedding of Prince William and Princess Kate, dubbed at the wedding of the century, could be just only a dream for all couples who are aspiring for their weddings. Nonethless, even an average couple from humble families is prepared to spend their hard-earned savings to host a perfect wedding reception. Weddings, here on earth, are a special thing and this sacred, solemn yet joyous event is personally instituted by God when He brought Adam and Eve together as husband and wife (Genesis 2:21-23). Almost all couples, they are looking for a marriage that will last. Regrettably, however sincere these couples are in their motives of having lasting marriage, we have seen failed marriages and divorces are on the raise. This is a global trend. In some western countries, the rate of divorce is more than 50% which means that for every two marriages, one will get divorced someday, somehow. This is really very sad because God hates divorce (Malachi 2:16).

Blissfully, there is a marriage that is always 100% successful and it will last into eternality! It is an eternal marriage, made not between a man and a woman, but between the believers and Jesus Christ whom they have received as their Saviour. This heavenly marriage between Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God and His Bride comprising all the faithful believers will be one of greatest events the universe has ever known (Revelation 19:6-8). This event is commonly referred to as The Marriage Super of The Lamb and through this Marriage, those who are saved by the Blood of the Lamb is assured that there are blessed days ahead for the people of God who will participate in this Great Marriage Feast of the Lamb.

To understand this we must first understand the marriage customs of the Jews in Jesus' day. We can observe that this paralleled salvation that is taught in the Bible. [Note: The following are excerpt taken from another sermon by a Bible-believing church of which I would like to acknowledge with a thankful heart.]

I - The Four Stages of a Jewish Wedding

A. The Betrothal

The betrothal was binding and could only be undone by a divorce with proper grounds, such as the bride being found not to be pure (as we can also note this in Matthew 1:18-19 – betrothal of Joseph and Mary). The young man prepared a Ketubah, (Kit to bah) or marriage contract (or covenant) which he presented to the intended bride and her father. Included in this was the " Bride Price ", which was appropriate in that society to compensate the young woman's parents for the cost of raising her, as well as being an expression of his love for her.

B. Acceptance

To see if the proposal was accepted, the young man would pour a cup of wine for his beloved and wait to see if she drank it. This cup represents a blood covenant. If she drank the cup she would have accepted the proposal and they would be betrothed. The young man would then give gifts to his beloved, and then take his leave. The young woman would have to wait for him to return and collect her.

C. The wedding chamber and the Chuppah (Chup-pa)

Before leaving the young man would announce: I am going to prepare a place for you, and I will return for you when it is ready. The usual practice was for the young man to return to his father's house and build a honeymoon room there. This is what is symbolized by the chuppah or canopy which is characteristic of Jewish weddings. He was not allowed to skimp on the work and had to get his father's approval before he could consider it ready for his bride. If asked the date of his wedding he would have to reply, "Only my father knows." Typically it would be a year before he came for his bride.
Meanwhile the bride would be making herself ready so that she would be pure and beautiful for her bridegroom. During this time she would wear a veil when she went, out to show she was spoken for (she has been bought with a price)

D. The Wedding

When the wedding chamber was ready the bridegroom could collect his bride. He could do this at any time so the bride would make special arrangements. It was the custom for a bride to keep a lamp, her veil and her other things beside her bed. Her bridesmaids were also waiting and had to have oil ready for their lamps.

When the groom and his friends got close to the bride's house they would give a shout and blow a shofar to let her know to be ready.
When the wedding party arrived at father's house the newly weds went into the wedding chamber for a seven day honeymoon and the groom's best friend stood outside waiting for the groom to tell him that the marriage had been consummated

Then all the friends really started celebrating for the seven days that the couple were honeymooning. When the couple emerged there would be much congratulation and the Marriage Supper could begin.

II - The Jewish Wedding Paralleled in Salvation

A. Betrothal pictures salvation.

Like the Jewish marriage custom the betrothal begins with a contract presented by the Bridegroom.

1. Jesus Christ is the Bridegroom and He presents to all men His contract of salvation and He pays the price. The price for the redemption of bride was His suffering and sacrifice on the Cross.

In 1 John 2:2 we read: “And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.” The word ‘Propitiation’ means full payment.
In Matthew 26:28 we read: "For this is my blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins." This covenant was not the one He made with Israel, but a new covenant made with those who would believe in Him in this age.

In Hebrews 8:6, it explains this covenant. "But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises."

Jesus gave us a better covenant with better promises.

2. To Israel God promised the coming of the Messiah and the Messiah's kingdom where Israel would be a peace and prosper. He promised them they would finally have the land that he gave to Abraham that extends from the Nile river in the south to the Euphrates in the north.

3. To believers saved in the Church Age Jesus has promised something much better.

4. The Gospel is God's proclamation of the this new covenant. Jesus further revealed this New Testament or covenant when He gave us the Lord's Supper:
1 Corinthians 11:25 "After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me."

The word "testament" means a contract or covenant.

B. Jesus then offers people in this present age, which began at Pentecost in Acts 2, a new testament.

1. We are saved just like people in the Old Testament which was by faith in God's revealed promises. They looked in faith to the coming of the Messiah Jesus Christ and we look back on the finished work of Christ and the cross where Jesus paid the sins of the world - past, present and future.

2. The New Testament is not a new way to be saved, but a new promise in what our salvation would bring. We become the body and Bride of Christ. We have a special close relationship with Him now and in eternity. There is no relationship closer than that of a husband and wife.

In 1 Corinthians 12:12-14, it explains this saying "For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. For the body is not one member, but many."

In Ephesians 4:12 we also note that: "For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ."

C. Jesus' promise to His Bride.

1. In Galatians 3:22, it tells us: "But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe."

2. Writing to the Ephesians Paul tells them and us of this promise. Here he says we are sealed...with the holy Spirit of promise and also as noted in Ephesians 1:13-14 "In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

D. Therefore Jesus Christ the Bridegroom has offered to us covenant, a proposal of salvation. But we will see that the proposal is conditional.

III - The acceptance of the proposal.

A. There would be no wedding if the bride did not respond to the offer of marriage. The bride would be offered a cup of red wine.

1. The young man would pour a cup of wine for his perspective bride. This clearly symbolizes Jesus' blood that He poured out for our sins. Once again we go to the Lord's Supper to see this truth.

Jesus said as recorded by Matthew 26:28 "For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins."
Luke makes it even clearer, " Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you." (Luke 22:20)

2. Paul writes in Titus: Titus 3:5-7 "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life."

In other words all the bride has to do is accept the proposal of marriage.

B. Remember what John 3:36 said? "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him."

John 1:12 "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name."
When a person by faith receives Jesus Christ as their Savior it is a picture of the bride accepting the proposal of the Bridegroom.

C. The Bridegroom's promise:

1. John 14:1-3 record the very words spoken by the Bridegroom to His bride.

John 14:1-3 "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."

2. The Bridegroom goes prepares the wedding chamber and the Chuppah. . As in the Jewish wedding the Bridegroom leaves to prepare the new home for His Bride.

3. Notice that He promises to come again and receive her unto Himself, that where the Bridegroom is so will be the bride.

4. The proposal of marriage is made to the Father, the bride accepts the proposal and officially the couple is betrothed. The bride is now "sanctified" or set apart to her husband. The only way to break the covenant was divorce and the only grounds for divorce was that the bride, had deceived the bridegroom and was not pure.

We see the example of this when Joseph found out that Mary was with child. Matthew 1:19 says, " Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily." To "put her away" meant to divorce here.

Yet, in the marriage of a believer to Jesus Christ there can be no divorce, because the only grounds of divorce, which is impurity (which is completely removed by Jesus Christ). The believer is forgiven of all their sins and given eternal life.

5. The Bridegroom must also have the approval of his father, which he received prior to making the marriage proposal. The wedding chamber and the Chuppah (huppa) was built on the bridegroom's father's house. It would be where he would live with his new bride. This being his Father's home...the Father was the one who would say when the wedding chamber was ready and when the marriage might take place.

Today the Chuppah is a canopy placed at the Father's house under which the couple stand and the marriage vows are stated. In Bible times it was the home that the bridegroom prepared for his bride in his father's home.

If someone would ask the Bridegroom when was the day of the wedding he would reply "Only Father knows."

IV - The Bridegroom comes for His bride.

A. At the proper time appointed by the bridegroom's father a messenger would be sent to announce the bridegroom's coming and the bridegroom taking his wife.

B. The bride not knowing when the bridegroom would come was to keep herself ready at all times.

1. In Matthew 25 Jesus gave the parable of the ten virgins who were called to a marriage supper. These virgins when they heard the Bridegroom was coming would go to meet him and light the way with their lamps.

The groom, best man and other male escorts would leave the groom's father's house and conduct a torch light procession to the home of the bride.
The groom's arrival would be preceded by a shout. This shout would forewarn the bride to be prepared for the coming of the groom. The guests would be invited to the wedding. In the Marriage Supper of the Lamb, Israel is the invited guest to the ceremony and feast.

2. Once the Bridegroom arrived the wedding ceremony would take place and the bridegroom would spend their honeymoon night together in the home provided by the bridegroom.

The bride would be adorned in her "wedding garments."

3. Shortly after arrival the bride and groom would be escorted by the other members of the wedding party to the bridal chamber (chuppah). Prior to entering the chamber the bride remained veiled so that no one could see her face. While the grooms men and bridesmaids would wait outside, the bride and groom would enter the bridal chamber alone.

C. Following the marriage there would be a seven day honey moon in which the bride groom would be together. At the end of the seven days the couple would emerge and the invited guests would have a "marriage supper."

Conclusion:

The marriage takes place in heaven when Jesus takes believers to be with Him in the Rapture.

The marriage supper takes place after the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus and the invited guests are Old Testament and the Tribulation saints. The marriage supper takes place in the Millennium, the one thousand year reign of the Lord Jesus on the earth.

It will be a glorious time for those who have believed and accepted the Bridegroom the Lord Jesus Christ.

What a wonderful thing it will be to have this special relationship and place of service to the Lord throughout eternity.

Like the biblical marriage the wife is to be the help meet of her husband. In her special relationship she has the privilege to serve Him. The bride is a joy to the bridegroom and she is an honor to him.

Could I ask you a question? Will you be there...will you accept the Lord's proposal of salvation and thereby assure you place in heaven and experience for all eternity the blessings and inheritance of the Lord Jesus.

Will you allow Him to wash you white as snow, forgiving your sins and giving you eternal life.

Today’s Scripture Reading [May 15, 2011]

Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. (1 Corinthians 9:24-25. KJV)

Every four years, people around the world are waiting anxiously to watch two very popular sports events: The Olympic Games and the World Cup. Billion of people literally glued to their televisions and internet to watch the games. For the players, the stakes are very high, and unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on whether you are a winner or a loser) there can be only one winner or one team of winners for each game that is being played. The stakes are very high because winners will likely become instant millionaires (if they are not already one), achieve instant fame that is second to none, and become instant idols admired by many people all over the world.

Honestly speaking, there is little joy in defeat when you are not the winner in a competition. I wonder whether any of you can recall this simple statement of truth that “there is little joy in defeat”? This simple truth was shared by one of the political candidates of the recent national election during an interview with press media. He had lost his parliamentary seat because voters had voted his team out, and he was absolutely right when he admitted that “there is little joy in defeat.” Every one of us wants to be winners regardless of the games we play. Even in some friendly games, losers and winners can later become real enemies because there is little joy in defeat which can sour the relationship so badly that close friends become sworn enemies.

Whether we like it or not, we are all constantly competing for something from the very moment we entered the education system and later out in our career life. We all aspire to become somebody someday, and at the end of the day, it’s about challenging ourselves against others; it’s about achieving our goals and missions at the expense of others; it’s about unless I excel, someone is going to climb on top of me and I am going to be subservient to him or her. It’s about me and them. It’s about putting self before others. This is what competition is all about, and when we didn’t get what we expect to get, it seems that the “world had collapsed.” This was exactly what a chairman of a very big bank felt when he learnt he had not got the job he wanted as chief executive of a bank he was working for. Every one of us is desperately clamour to become winner – from the chief executive to the lowest position. There is no exception to this desire, or more accurately, covetousness for a championship in our pursuit be it our education, career, sports or even our hobby.

But there is a competition of different kind that Christians must compete with. This competition of ours is not to challenge others but to constantly challenge ourselves to achieve the goals and the missions that God has installed for us. These challenges required our absolute obedience and selfless-sacrifice. This is not about ourselves. Rather, this competition is putting others before self. This is not about seeking to become winner at the expense of others but to become winner at the expense of ourselves by denying ourselves and by following Jesus. This is our Spiritual Olympics! Unlike the international Olympics Games which are hosted once every four years, our Spiritual Olympics is our daily game that we play against our own flesh, against our own sinful desires and against our own selfish pursuit for corruptible crown. And also unlike the international Olympics Games or the World Cup which are watched by billions of people around the world, we have only One Spectator when we compete in the Spiritual Olympics. This Spectator is none other than our Living God, the Lord Jesus Christ who looking from down from heaven and see how we perform or run the race.

Just like all sports, in order to win and excel in our Spiritual Olympics, we need to prepare, to practice and to stay focus on our goals and our missions. Every sport has rules and all participants must observe the rules. Failure to observe those rules will disqualify the competitors from the race. We have heard of ‘winners’ who were later had their prizes withdrawn because they had broken the rules like using contra-band drugs to improve their performance. We must, therefore, observe the rules pertaining to the Spiritual Olympics and these rules are contained in the written word of God, the Bible. Unless we read the Bible as frequently as it should be, we are in danger of violating the rules and we may then be disqualified from the race, let alone winning it.

We observe that good and famous sportsmen are very discipline. They practice the games every day to constantly honing their skills. A very well-known pianist once commented: If I failed to practice one day, I can notice my performance, and if I failed to practice one week, my audience can notice my performance. Even though he is a very well-known concert pianist, he practices every day just ensure that his audience could enjoy his concert recital of highest musical perfection. How about we as Christians? Do we practice what we are being taught? Do we simply shake crocodile tears at our prayer meeting or Bible study when we heard of sobbing stories, of people in need but do nothing to help. All too often we heard of fellow Christians telling another fellow Christian I will pray for you; everything should be fine and God will take care of you but do nothing to help. Are we like the Pharisees and the scribes whom Jesus despised and denounced so much? Perhaps one of the best ways to prepare ourselves is to revisit the famous (or rather the infamous) renunciations of the Pharisees and the scribes that are written in Mathew 23. If we have nothing to offer to help, the best we can is to pray for them in secret rather than telling those who are desperately in need that “it will be fine; everything should be ok; have faith in God; I have gone through this before” and perhaps follow by a few drops of your tears! If it is beyond our means to help, or if we are not being led to help, the best we can do is to pray for them in secret and avoid using vain, repetitive words just to impress others (Matthew 6:5-7).

In addition to constant practicing, highly skilled sportsmen are very conscious with their diets. They eat healthily in order to confidently and effectively compete the race. Unlike many of us who are gluttony, we live to eat and our careless and irresponsible consumption of food, alcohol tobacco has caused us many illnesses. To prepare for our Spiritual Olympics, we must also, like those disciplined sportsmen, watch our diets. But this is not so much of physical food and drink I am referring to. Rather, we must be able to discern what we read and what we see or hear. There are too much information, TV programs, internet websites that are really ‘unsuitable and unfit for human consumption.’ The images that we input into our mind will become our mental library. Though our mental library is not visible to anyone, this is where we retrieve and we seek out the information. The danger is that if our mental library is corrupted, we will be influenced by it which will inevitably affect our thoughts and our actions.

Another mark of true sportsmanship is persistent and right training. It must also be emphasized that no amount of training or degree of preparedness can prevent disappointment. Our Spiritual Olympics is no different from the world of sports or the world of politics where sportsmen and politicians clamoured against one another. The difference, as I have already mentioned earlier, our Spiritual Olympics is about competing against ourselves, clamouring for God’s reward, the reward of incorruptible crown. There is little joy in defeat and while this is very true for people who compete in sports or competing for corporate position or political office, it is also very true for Christians who are running the spiritual race. Though we may fall, but we shall not be cast down because God’s hand will uphold us (Psalm 37:24). We need hard work and perseverance and to depart from evil and to continue to do good as part of our spiritual workouts and training (Psalm 37:27). We must press on with our training and cross the finishing line. One of the great joys that a world class competitor could experience is to stand on the winning platform and let the head of state present a gold medal to him. For us, the crown of glory will be given to us not by the head of state but by the King of kings, our Living God, the Lord Jesus Christ. And we don’t need to compete with others for this crown of glory. We need to compete only with our very self to be more Christ-like. That’s the goal and the mission of our competition. We all want to get a prize in life of becoming more like Jesus but often we look at the wrong place or run in a wrong race to compete for better position in the office or for better grades in our school examination. Yes, sometimes these are important but we must not be grossly overtaken by these pursuits and fail to run our spiritual race. If you have not entered this spiritual race because you are too engaged in other worldly sports or competition, you are still not too late to enter into this spiritual race. There is a room at the cross for you! While it is beyond the hope of many people to enter into international Olympic Games or the World Cup which demands that we must have achieved some minimum standards in order to participate, in our spiritual race there are no minimum standards or requirements. Regardless of your race, your age, your gender, even your religious belief, you can participate and enter the race right now. Although you may be an unworthy participant now but so long you are in the race, our Chief Coach, God Himself will continue to guide and provide you the training needed to finish the race. This is a race that you will never live to regret but this window of opportunity of you to participate is not going to open forever. Like all sports, the Spiritual Olympics has a time limit and once the time limit has reached, it will be too late for you to participate. You must enter the race now and to seek Him while He may be found, and foresake your wicked ways, your wicked thoughts and press on to complete the race and enter into His glorious presence (Isaiah 55:6-7). This the race of all races that God wants us to run, and to run now. Where are we right now in the the race is not important. The crucial point is that we must be in the race and continue to ask God to help us to run this race by forsaking our wicked ways and our evil thoughts and to live our lives all for His glory. The race is all about us and Him!

Vengeance is Mine

I came across this well-written article. Insightful and thought-provoking.

http://www.gotquestions.org/revenge-vengeance.html

Question: "What does the Bible say about revenge?"

Answer: The Bible has a great deal to say about revenge. Both the Hebrew and Greek words translated “vengeance,” “revenge,” and “avenge” have as their root meaning the idea of punishment. This is crucial in understanding why God reserves for Himself the right to avenge.

The key verse regarding this truth is found in the Old Testament and quoted twice in the New Testament. God said: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay. In due time their foot will slip; their day of disaster is near and their doom rushes upon them” (Deuteronomy 32:35; Romans 12:19; Hebrews 10:30). In Deuteronomy, God is speaking of the stiff-necked, rebellious, idolatrous Israelites who rejected Him and incurred His wrath with their wickedness. He promised to avenge Himself upon them in His own timing and according to His own perfect and pure motives. The two New Testament passages concern the behavior of the Christian, who is not to usurp God’s authority. Rather, we are to allow Him to judge rightly and pour out His divine retribution against His enemies as He sees fit.

Unlike us, God never takes vengeance from impure motives. His vengeance is for the purpose of punishing those who have offended and rejected Him. We can, however, pray for God to avenge Himself in perfection and holiness against His enemies and to avenge those who are oppressed by evil. In Psalm 94:1, the psalmist prays for God to avenge the righteous, not out of a sense of uncontrolled vindictiveness, but out of just retribution from the eternal Judge whose judgments are perfect. Even when the innocent suffer and the wicked appear to prosper, it is for God alone to punish. “The LORD is a jealous and avenging God; the LORD takes vengeance and is filled with wrath. The LORD takes vengeance on his foes and maintains his wrath against his enemies” (Nahum 1:2).

There are only two times in the Bible when God gives men permission to avenge in His name. First, after committing hideous, violent acts against the Israelites, the cup of God’s wrath against the Midianites was full, and He commanded Moses to lead the people in a holy war against them. “The LORD said to Moses, ‘Take vengeance on the Midianites for the Israelites. After that, you will be gathered to your people’" (Numbers 31:1-2). Here again, Moses did not act on his own; he was merely an instrument to carry out God’s perfect plan under His guidance and instruction. Second, Christians are to be in submission to the rulers God has set over us because they are His instruments for “vengeance on evildoers” (1 Peter 2:13-14). As in Moses’ case, these rulers are not to act on their own, but are to carry out God’s will for the punishment of the wicked.

It is tempting to try to take on the role of God and seek to punish those who we feel deserve it. But because we are sinful creatures, it is impossible for us to take revenge with pure motives. This is why the Mosaic Law contains the command: “Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against one of your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD” (Leviticus. 19:18). Even David, a “man after God’s own heart” (1 Samuel 13:14), refused to take revenge on Saul, even though David was the innocent party being wronged. David submitted to God's command to forego vengeance and trust in Him: “May the LORD judge between you and me. And may the LORD avenge the wrongs you have done to me, but my hand will not touch you (1 Samuel 24:12).

As Christians, we are to follow the Lord Jesus’ command to “Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you” (Matthew 5:44), leaving the vengeance to God.

Psalm23, I have one question though. How do you reconcile 'leaving the vengeance to God' (the last line) which implies a desire to have justice done with 'forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sinned against us'.

It would seem that the two are not incompatible.

One interesting point is the concept of praying for our leaders (political). It would appear that the whole concept of leadership is about justice and fairness in the society we live in. 1 Peter 2:13-14 (see above). Thus we should be against people who believe in the abolishment of the death penalty. Because there is no instrument for justice in such a society. These are thought-provoking insights and I will probably mull over them for a long while, considering different points of view, before making my own. Hence appreciate your thoughts on this.

One more point: do you interpreting praying for our leaders as equivalent to voting for our leaders?

IR123,

God's promise to take vengence for His faithful people is a reflection of our value to Him. Like we see in many kung fu movies, the master who valued his disciples dearly would go and do anything to take revenge for his disciples, and often the master has to do the job because his disciples were too weak to do it themselves. Our Living God is a very personal God, and He knew that often we are frustrated when we are bullied by the great and the powerful. Furthermore, He doesn't want us to harbor hatred and instead leave our affair to Him. The need for us to forgive others is one of the most important part of a Christian's attributes that God wants us to have. Jesus summarises all the commandments into just two: Love your God with all your heart, your soul and your mind, and love your neigbours as yourself. While the two (our need to forgive others and God taking revenge for us) seemingly not compatible but we need to understand that anyone who does us wrong to others will not go unpunished. But God is merciful and He knows when and how to take revenge for His faithful children, especially those who are persecuted because of the Gospel that we believe in. It may be possible that the one who did wrong to others has repented and God may decide to extend the mercy to that person and may not punish Him. Remember what Jesus has taught us: reap what you sow. Sooner or later, if we continue to harm others, we will be harmed and this can take in various forms - guilt, loss of friendship, etc. So, the advice from God is very wise - just forgive those who have wronged you and let me take care of the rest.

One your second point on leadership, we need also to remember that kings are born and not made. But we need to pray for righteous leaders to lead our countries. We see countries around the world are collapsing because of poor leadership. Together with the family members and cronies they acquired great wealth, bullied the poor and the helpless but in the end they will pay for their sins. We now see these occuring in many parts of African countries. These leaders and their families can run, but they cannot hide from the wrath of God. Revenge has finally come to them.

I personally don't pray for any specific leaders but I do pray that God will raise up righteous leaders. Yes, when we pray for a specific person to be leader, it is equivalent to voting for him. I am sure if you are praying from Mr. So-and-so to be elected, and if you are voting in his constituency, you will certainly vote for him.

Hope you can make more contribution to this thread because I believe many readers will be blessed by your contribution.

God bless.

Let me test my understanding with you.

1st form

There are two forms of forgiveness: the forgiveness that does not remember the sins and thus made the person whole and gain entry into the kingdom of heaven. That is the forgiveness that Christ promised to all.

The forgiveness of wrongs done to others. That is not guaranteed. That sort of forgiveness come from the wronged party to the guilty. It is this part where "forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sinned against us" come in and I am not sure of its application.

Whilst on the Cross, one of the guilty asked Christ to forgive him. Divine forgiveness was granted to him. But he was not spared the temporal punishment which accords justice to his victims. That is to say, he did not get off his cross and escape.

Divine forgiveness was granted to King David. However his child died, he was betrayed by his children and his family was in chaos with wives and children fighting each other.

In the scene where Christ forgave the adulteress woman, she was spared the temporal punishment not because Christ grant it but because none of the men there has the presence of mind to know that by throwing the stone, it is not because they are sinless but because God commanded it via Moses. If Christ require the executors to be sinless, then all the law-enforcers will have to resign.

Now let's take a scenario where a Christian diplomat did a hit and run, killing two victims and maiming a third for life. The temporal law is on his side - because he is a diplomat and thus not guilty of his sins on another. The divine law is on his side - because he is a Christian, Christ died for him and if Christ sets him free, who is to say otherwise?

If the above is true, then Christ protects the guilty and let the innocent suffer.

Let's make it even more complex. The Christian diplomat did not intend to kill. It was largely accidental. Just that he was drunk and panic when he saw the carnage. He lived with a clear conscience with the infinite love, mercy and grace of God.

But two non-christians died. And the third can no longer earn a living.

2nd form

Forgiveness by Christ covers both divine forgiveness and release from temporal punishment. Christians forgive all.

Your point that kings are born and not made, I am afraid I do not understand. Are you saying that it is nature and not nurture? Are you saying that kingship is hereditary?

In the Bible, kings are neither born nor made. They are predestined.

In asian dynasties, kings are born.

In western-based democracies, kings are made.

God never intended us to have kings to rule over us. God is against it. Thus the concept of kings is not endorsed by God. Accepted, yes. Resigned to it, yes. Made the best out of it, yes. But endorsed, no. God moves in a flat, one-down structure where the cries of every man, woman and child is heard by him. Even organizationally, it is a flat structure. Some however say that that is fine for primitive societies but when they grow, some form of organization is needed. Organization, yes. But it does not extend to kingship. Others countered that kingship is part and parcel of God's kingdom. Those who are interested can explore this further and share.

In Relevation, we learn of the ultimate structure: Christ and his People. There are elders, tribal leaders, etc to take care of adminstrative details. There is organization. But it is a flat-structure: you do not need to make any appointment to see Christ. Neither is He so elitist that you have to go through his secretaries. Neither is there need for teachers, apostles, etc because the Bridegroom has come to take care of his Bride. He is there to wipe every tear from our eyes. His presence permeates all in Heaven. Everyone sees clearly.

In Christianity, the concept of kings is practiced formally by those in Anglican and Roman Catholic Churches. Informally by some charismatic churches.

The concept of elected leaders by the Methodist and Presbyterian Churches.

The concept of a flat one-down church by the Baptists and other Congregationalists.

The concept of church as a business and CEO is a recent development.

Hi IR123,

I believe we are touching on a complex topic. You have given some insight which I wasn't aware of, until now. All I can add is that, since the fall of man, what human demands is freeddom - especially freedom from God. Sadly, human cannot handle freedom and the result is that we have misused and abused the freedom. God is our King of kings and Lords of lord and we just cannot escape from His rule, eventually. He is going to rule the universe into eternality and those who are willing to be submissive to Him and willing to forgo the freedom will inherit His reward. That is life - there is a price (and a cost) to everything and the greatest reward we can get is to forgo our freedom and let God takes charge of our lives. Because we are unable to handle freedom, the institution of government - in ancient days in the form of kingship, and now in the form of elected government - is estaiblished, and as what you have mentioned, with God's knowledge and His acceptance of this institution. All key appointments that have great impact on the lives of the people, on the spreading of the Gospel and on helping Him to establish the Kingdom of God are appointed with His acknowledge and approval. This is actually what I meant by kings (or head of state) are born and not made.

On topic of Jesus on the cross, we have heard some final words from Jesus - My God, my God, why thou has foresaken me? I hold these few words very dearly because I always tell it to myself that if God the Father cannot forsake Jesus (who was then carrying all the sins - past, present and future - we must not be so confident that God cannot foresake us. I hold to this truth and hence I don't believe the doctrine of "once saved, always saved". That's my opinion and I think this does better to me to continue to persue to be more Christlike than believing that the doctrine of 'once saved, always saved." When you believe the doctrine of 'once saved, always saved" you can become complacent, and can dangerous become indfferent to sins because you will come to believe, wrongly of course, that so what, I am saved; I can do what I want; I now have the passport to commit any sin so long I believe in Jesus. Remember, Satan also believe in Jesus and that's why he tried to tempt Jesus in the wilderness. He want Jesus to worship him. So, just believing that Jesus is God is not good enough to get us saved - that's my opinion.

In the commercial world, there are two types of errors - Errors of omission and Errors of commission. Basically, errors of omission are due to neligent with no ill intention to commit mischief, whereas errors of commission is premediated and with intent to commit mischief. I think God is merciful and He knows our heart very well the knd of sins we commit. Although to God sin is sin (and I believe in this) but I still hold to the truth that God will administer His justice based on the kind of sins we commit. Regardless, unless we accepted the blood of Jesus, and repent of our sins, we cannot see God and we have no place in His Kingdom. As to how He is going to deal the unbelievers, I really have no answers but I believe God is not going to administer like what judges of the world do and follow by the book of statutes.

In your illustration on the diplomat, and let's assume that he is really a Christian and he did kill somesone because of the accident, he will still need to be punished by the secular law. For him, losing his job as a diplmat is one of the punishments.

Hi Psalm23,

Actually I am glad for the way you frame your answers because I truly think there is no definitive answers. I am glad that you did not give one of the pat replies that one so often gotten, replies that sweep the dust off the carpet and underneath it so that we can sit on the carpet and praise God.

In this imperfect world there are no one that can exempt himself/herself from the grace of God and that includes me, especially me. Hence I have always believe in judgment which goes hand in hand with grace.

It is my firm belief that God knows the entire situation and that his judgment will be just. In submitting to God, we submit to his handling of the situation. King David could have killed King Saul but he let God do the avenging. "Let the Lord judge between you and me. May the Lord avenge the wrongs you have done to me but my hand will not touch you." It is a stand that those in the shoes of the victims of the diplomat can pray to Almighty God. God knows the circumstances and will act accordingly. The judgment of God is continually affirmed throughout the old and new Testaments. May I add that losing a job for a diplomat is insufficient when others lost their lives, in accordance to the Mosaic Law which was given by God.

Christ came to fulfill that Law but to what extent, I do not know. If it is a 100% fulfillment, then if someone hits another in the eye, then Christ will offer the victim to hit him in the eye, in place of the guilty. As you know, such a situation is ridiculous. (Those who disagree will say that Christ bore all such sins on his body in the Cross and that it is a complete and final fulfillment).

However I am not sure that his death paid for all temporal sins but rather the original sin that alienates all men from God. That Sin which cast a veil between God and His Creation is paid for by Christ so that through Him, we can make peace with God. It is that which the Mosaic Law seeks - to create a perfect Man - so that Man can reach God. But that is impossible - so Christ fulfill the requirements of the Mosaic Law in himself so that all who believe are perfect in God's sight. (Did you get my point? I am writing too fast and the points I am making are not easy to understand and I am using the language imperfectly).

As for God turning his face away from Christ, that occurred at the time when Christ actually became a sin offering for all Man (and Woman). It was when God poured out his wrath on Christ so that through one man, all will be saved just as through a previous man (via his wife), all were condemned. That is why the sin offering by Christ is complete and that there is no other need for atonement. "It is finished" and it remains so, always.

However God will not turn his face away or forsake us just as he did to Christ at that one and only time. It was to save us that he forsake Christ. Of that, I am 100% sure.

But some argued that because of this, once saved, always saved. These are some evidences that contradicts that: Paul (work out your salvation), James (repent you sinners). Some say that this relates to rewards and not salvation. But Relevation (Christ) said that even doctrinal stands can cause a person to lose his salvation, Gospels (Christ) - "I do not know you", the goats and the sheep, the wheat and the chaff.

Better and eminently qualified men have argued extensively and comprehensively on both sides, people like Calvin, Luthur, St Augustine and many Jesuit scholars who have contemplated the positions. (My discussions with some church leaders lead me to the conclusion that they understand the basic position but are at a loss when it comes to discussing complexities. Hence it is best to go to the writings of the various scholars. However in reflecting, nothing beats a joint traveller in the pilgrimage as iron sharpens iron and two sincere hearts is better than one)

In summary, my present belief is that God forgives all the sins of the individual via Christ as the sacrificial lamb. Christ commands that restitution be made (if you pray and you remember you have sinned against a brother, then go and make peace and then come and make your sacrifices) by the guilty to their victims and not rely on the law to make them pay. Then and only then, our prayer that God forgives us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us, makes sense as divine forgiveness comes hand in hand with interpersonal justice and God's grace covers all - the guilty and the innocent. (The innocent receives both God's blessings and divine help to them as well as the compensation of the guilty. The guilty receives God's forgiveness as well as the forgiveness of their victims).

............

Perhaps what those who are reading this and who have made their simplistic points against Christianity can realize from these posts that Christians are also people seeking answers but have yet to see perfectly all the answers. Just think of Christians as people who believe that there is God who created us, Christ is God's answer to our prayers (who are you, why so much injustice, why don't you care, why you send earthquakes, tsunamis to destroy people and a host of other accusations, some totally unjust as the problems are caused by the freewill of men, businessmen, corporate leaders and political leaders) and by faith believe that God is just and will repay each according to his/her works, even as we see the wicked prosper and guilty abscond.

..............

These are my understandings as of this point in time. So don't assume that I am right or wrong. I am neither, just a person sincerely seeking answers. Also a sincere person can be wrong.

IR123,

These are exactly the type of conversations I am looking forward to. The most important thing I learnt from conversations like these is how ignorant of me because there are so many questions and yet I cannot deliver the answers to most of them, and so I need to continue to search for answers from His written word, the Bible. Quite sometimes ago, I had a missionary couples from U.S. visited me. They had been missionaries in Asia for over 40 years. In fact, all their three children were born outside U.S. because they were stationed in Asia for most of their time. They lived very humbly spending 15 years in India living in an ophanage which I had the chance to visit them many years ago. What impresses me was a remark made by the wife. She said it is interesting that they have been missionaries and studied the Bible day and night for more than 60 years (they are now in their 80s and became Christians when they were in their 20s), and yet each time when they came across some verses which they have read many times before, these verses spoke to them very differentlyfrom what they knew before. They could learn sometime new from the 'old' verses. They are truly living words of God.

It's so great we have the living words from our Living God, the Lord Jesus Christ and our search for answers will even spill over into eternality because that's what we are going to do as fully redeemed children of God - to further understand the depth of God's love which is from everlasting to everlasting - nothing can compare to God's love for the human race.

God bless

If you've been following the preaching of Harold Camping, according to him, Judgment Day is merely days away. So set your clock for 6pm on Saturday, May 21st.

Camping is president of religion-based Family Radio Worldwide of Oakland, California. He uses mathematical predictions applied to the Bible to predict dates for the end of the world. The most recent end time prediction is that the Rapture will be on May 21, 2011 and that God will completely destroy the Earth and the universe five months later on October 21.

A side note to end-time fanatics looking forward to this day - Camping previously predicted that the rapture would occur in September 6, 1994 and even published a book 1994?. The date passed by uneventfully.

Nevertheless, May 21, 2011 is the beginning of the end for Camping and some, the day when only the righteous will be saved and taken to heaven,

According to an interview with New York Magazine, Camping convincingly says "God has given sooo much information in the Bible about this, and so many proofs, and so many signs, that we know it is absolutely going to happen without any question at all. There's nothing in the Bible that God has ever prophesied - there's many things that he prophesied would happen and they always have happened - but there's nothing in the Bible that holds a candle to the amount of information to this tremendous truth of the end of the world.

"When the clock says about 6 p.m., there's going to be this tremendous earthquake that's going to make the last earthquake in Japan seem like nothing in comparison. And the whole world will be alerted that Judgment Day has begun. And then it will follow the sun for 24 hours.

"As each area of the world gets to that point of 6 p.m. on May 21, then it will happen there, and until it happens, the rest of the world will be standing far off and witnessing the horrible thing that is happening."

According to an excerpt from the New York Magazine interview :

If six o'clock rolls around and there are no major earthquakes, are you going to start to get worried?
It's going to happen. It's going to happen. I don't even think about those kind of issues. The Bible is not - God is not playing games. I don't even want to think about that question at all. It is going to happen.

You haven't thought about what you'll tell your followers on May 22 if the Rapture doesn't take place?
I'm not even thinking about that at all. It. Is. Going. To. Happen. Because I trust the Bible implicitly, the Bible is God's word - it's not from a man, it's not from an organization of some kind where there's plenty of room for error. It is the word of God. When God speaks that it is going to happen, the Bible is a very factual book, and God gives many examples of how he has made prophesies and it always has happened in exact accord with what God has prophesied.

Skeptics who do not take to Camping's teachings well are likely to talk it over on May 22.

see how stupid christains is ....

Billboards are popping up around the globe, including in major Canadian cities, proclaiming May 21 as Judgment Day. "Cry mightily unto GOD for HIS mercy," says one of the mounted signs from Family Radio, a California-based sectarian Christian group that is sending one of its four travelling caravans of believers into Vancouver and Calgary within the next 10 days.

Family Radio's website is blunt in its prediction of Judgment Day and the rolling earthquake that will mark the beginning of the end. "The Bible guarantees it!" the site proclaims, under a passage from the book of Ezekiel, which says "blow the trumpet … warn the people."

Richard Ascough, a professor in the School of Religion at Queen's University in Kingston, Ont., has been watching Family Radio's campaign, and fully expects life as we know it to continue on May 22.

He has seen other apocalyptic predictions come and go, but Family Radio's differs in a notable way: it isn't accompanied by a bold, up-front request for money. And that's worrisome, in his mind.

"I think they really believe it's going to happen," Ascough said in an interview Tuesday.
What if Judgment Day doesn't come?

When groups such as this ask for a lot of money up front, it's possible to think they're "charlatans," Ascough said.

"When they're not doing that so blatantly, it worries me more, because I think they really do believe it and they can convince people who may end up in fact doing things like … quitting their jobs, selling their house, not necessarily to give the money to this group, but simply to divest themselves in light of Judgment Day."

And then that predicted Judgment Day doesn't come.

"We've seen that happen in groups before, and then people are just wiped out, not just emotionally because it didn't happen, but financially," said Ascough. "Some people, it's led to them taking their own lives when they realize what they have done."

Family Radio identifies itself on its website as a "non-profit, non-commercial, Christian radio network" set up in 1958 with one FM station in the San Francisco Bay area. From that station bought by Harold Camping and two others "with the sole intent of proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ," it has grown to a network of 66 stations through the U.S. It also broadcasts its programming internationally.

Some published estimates have put its net worth at $120 million or more.

"To have that kind of revenue base, if that's correct, suggests there must be quite a few listeners," said Ascough.

He said it is "hard to get a read" on the sectarian Christian group.

"Their theology is fundamentalist and yet still generally within the bounds of Christianity, until one gets to this date-setting business."
'Evidence found in the Bible'

On its website, Family Radio says May 21 as Judgment Day is "derived solely from evidence found in the Bible."

"Mr. Camping saw God had placed, in scripture, many important signs and proofs. These proofs alert believers that May 21st of 2011 is the date Christ will return for His people and begin a period of the final destruction of the world." All will be over on Oct. 21, "when God will completely destroy this earth and its surviving inhabitants," the website says.
The Family Radio website says president Harold Camping came up with the Judgment Day prediction based on 'evidence found in the Bible.' The Family Radio website says president Harold Camping came up with the Judgment Day prediction based on 'evidence found in the Bible.' (The Independent)

This isn't the first time Camping has predicted the end of the world. He also targeted 1994 as a probable time, but on the website, Family Radio says, "important subsequent Biblical information was not yet known."

Ascough said he thinks Camping's way of reading scripture is "irresponsible."

"It's not the way these Biblical texts were meant to be read, even by their original writers."

And even if they were, scholars can find mistakes in the mathematics and historical assumptions put forward in the Judgment Day predictions, he said. "It's all very slippery."

Ascough hasn't seen such visible activities like billboards from Family Radio in Canada before. He credits technology with allowing the group to reach more broadly into Canada and worldwide.

"They're savvy enough to have figured out how to market themselves well."
Cultural fascination

Family Radio is hardly the first group to predict the end. Movies, literature and television have told tales of a coming apocalypse, in many forms.

"Once it gets mocked on The Simpsons, you know it's taken hold," said Ascough.

Ascough sees both a cultural fascination with end-of-the-world scenarios and a fascination with the Bible behind the appeal that religious groups such as Family Radio can hold for followers.

"Quite a few people are attracted to fundamentalist groups of all stripes because many people don't like to live with ambiguity."

While Ascough predicts the world will survive any suggestions of its demise on May 21, he fully expects such ideas will be revived from time to time.

"Almost every generation has this kind of group, so I don't think they're going to go away."

End-of-the-world predictions — or suggestions of other calamities — have been made for centuries. Here's a look at some of them:

Dec. 12, 2012. The Mayan calendar is widely misinterpreted as ending on that date. Many have predicted that cataclysmic events will take place.

Jan. 1, 2000. Otherwise known as Y2K, it was a widespread prediction that computers wouldn't be able to handle the arrival of 01/01/2000. They did.

Aug. 18, 1999. Charles Criswell King, an American psychic, said the world would end that day. His other predictions ranged from Denver being struck by a ray from space to saying in March 1963 that something would happen to U.S. President John F. Kennedy in November 1963 that would mean he wouldn't run for re-election in 1964.

Dec. 17, 1919. Meteorologist Albert Porta said that six planets would come together that day, with the resulting magnetic current causing the Earth to be engulfed by the exploding sun.

1914: Based on the Bible's book of Daniel, the Jehovah's Witnesses (Watchtower Bible and Tract Society) estimated the beginning of the war of Armageddon. It was one of several similar predictions.

Oct. 22, 1844. Followers of American Baptist preacher William Miller, founder of the Millerite movement, considered it the Great Disappointment when the second coming of Jesus, which he had predicted, did not occur on that date.

Today’s Scripture Reading [May 22, 2011]

There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. [Proverb 14:12. KJV]

We saw in today’s newspaper on the swearing in of a new team of cabinet ministers. Many of us are pleased that our national poll has come to a ‘happy end’ and our nation can now move forward to a better future. We hope and pray that this ‘better future’ is really sometime better than what it is today. The demise of two of our early founding fathers – the first one was Dr. Goh Keng Swee, our chief economic architect who died last year, and the latest political demise of Minister Mentor who has decided to retire from his position as Minister Mentor - is a clear sign that we are in a new era – the era that we are now ruled by sons and daughters of our founding fathers. Whether we like it or not, the fact is that the sons and daughters of our early fathers are ruling over us. It has happened and we cannot go back to history.

History has shown that many dynasties could not survive for too long after their founding emperors or kings died and when they inherited their throne to their children, the princes and princesses. Even for those dynasties who survive today, the princes and the princesses who inherited the throne can only function as figure-head with no real power. We pray that the sons and daughters of our founding fathers of this modern nation can prove them to the contrary and they continue the good work of governing this fine city of ours as did by our founding fathers. We pray that God can help them to make this an exception and that the sons and daughters of our founding fathers are different from that of the early dynastic empires. But one thing we must acknowledge, unless the rulers of a nation are just and righteous, God is no Respecter of persons (Acts 10:33-34). Respect from God is not transferable or inheritable. It must be earned through their right decision-making that pleases God. In the Book of Judges, we are told that every man did that which was right in his own eyes (Judges 17:6) and sadly many of these things were wrong in God’s sight (although they were considered right in man’s sight). We are not talking about who chose to do wrong here but rather this refers to people (that is you and me) chose for themselves what was right. In many instances, we are sincere people who said: “I want to do right, but I will decide what is right.” Although we may be sincere but we are sincerely wrong because only the word of God decides what is right, especially on the right to decide what is good or evil. No preacher, no church, no philosopher, no ruler has the right to decide, not only for you or for their organization, or even for themselves! The right to decide good and evil is strictly reserved for God. The Bible says that every man “Did right”; but he decided what was right in his own eyes. For example, the abortionists have decided that they are doing the right thing. The parliament has decided that abortion is right. Single-sex activists have decided that marriage of the same sex is right. But God says they are doing evil (Exodus 20:13; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9). There are many sincere people who want to do right, but they want to decide for themselves what is good and evil. The consequences are deadly as we are warned in Proverb 14:12: “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”

In the new era of the Changing of the Guard where we are now ruled by sons and daughters of our early founding fathers who, we must honestly admit, have all wisdom that was second to none. We get to where we are today is not by pure chance. We came here because of their near God-inspired wisdom. Many of them may not be Christians, but they took almost every effort to decide what is right and what is wrong that was in agreement with the word of God, the Bible. For example, our early fathers despised easy money and believed in hard work and it was totally impossible for them to agree to have casino being built right here!

Anything can be justified if you deny God and His Law, because without God and His Law, man becomes the highest moral standard. In America, it was a sad day when a senior judge was disbarred as a judge for refusing to remove the Ten Commandments from the front of his courtroom. The higher judges made an issue out of this where there was no issue, abusing their power. By removing the Ten Commandments, the American judiciary has effectively kicked God out in the administration of justice. We must acknowledge that perfect justice can only come from God and no one else. By the same token, most people live by their own rules, instead of living by God's rules that can found in the Bible. Many of us remove the Ten Commandments out of our heart and this has effectively kicked God of our lives. We all live as if God is dead and some have even go and corrupt the meaning of the Scriptures in an attempt to justify their wickedness (Romans 1:25), whether it be a divorce or an abortion. Only God can decide what is good and what is evil, and no man has the absolute capability to do this job. We pray that our New Guard of cabinet ministers will continue the good work of our founding fathers and to give due respect to God’s Law in making their decisions because God's Law is the highest Law of the Universe. Only God has the right to decide what is good and evil.

Because of being steeped in, believing, and living a lie, in the the advanced stages of Christianity, the Christian takes on an artificial appearance and begins to look like the lie:
The well-known pasty look with the smiley mask. The lie emerges in the physical self.

"The power of the united thought of a number of people is always far more than the sum of their separate thoughts: it would be more nearly represented by their product"
- The Astral Body and Other Phenomena by Lieut. Colonel Arthur E. Powell © 1927

The following articles provide proof that everything in the Christian religion and in the bible has been STOLEN from other religions that predated it from all around the world. Christianity is a tool for removing spiritual/occult knowledge from the populace so this power can be kept in the hands of a few to manipulate and enslave the masses.
To really understand the Bible and see the truth, one must be very well educated in the occult. The mass mind is very powerful. When one studies long enough and acquires advanced knowledge of the occult, the truth is utterly shocking. The entire Judeo/Christian Bible is a hoax of catastrophic proportions with a very clear objective using subliminal means and the channeled psychic energy of believers.

Whenever Christianity or its cohorts took control of a country or region, the ancient spiritual texts and records were removed and/or destroyed and those who had spiritual knowledge were mass murdered by the Inquisition. This took out of circulation the very knowledge those in power have used and still use to manipulate the ignorant population using spiritual/occult power. The Bible is one of the most powerful subliminal tools used by a select few to enslave the masses. Most people are unaware of this because they lack knowledge regarding the occult, thought power, and psychic energy. The powers that be work to reinforce the belief that the occult, powers of the mind and spirit are nonsense or just plain bunk.

Destroying the ancient records allowed an alternative invented "history" to be written which has disconnected humanity from its true origins. Controlling history is important because if one manipulates how people see what we call the past, this influences the present and the future.

The entire Bible is an extremely powerful subliminal tool full of occult numbers, messages, allegories, and stolen material, which has been corrupted from ancient religions. In addition, this book has been infused with psychic energy and power to instill fear and to make it believable. When one's eyes are opened and one has the necessary knowledge, the *spell* will no longer be effective. The entire underlying theme of the Judeo/Christian Bible is the establishment of the fictitious history of the Jewish people in the mass mind. What the mass mind believes has power and the energy to make manifest in reality as thoughts are energy

There are vacuum-sealed vaults in the Vatican library containing thousands upon thousands of ancient esoteric books from around the world that have been stolen and hoarded over the years and kept out of public circulation. The Catholic Church, which is the root of the Christian religion, is controlled by a secret society that has abused occult power to enslave the masses. The end goal is the total enslavement of humanity, which they have worked towards relentlessly and ruthlessly.

All of this has directly affected each and every one of us. Humanity has suffered unnecessarily because of the denial of this knowledge. People have been coerced over the centuries into paying for their own damnation to the tune of billions and billions of dollars to keep this lie prospering and continuing strong. The survival and prosperity of this vicious hoax on humanity requires only ONE thing- A LACK OF KNOWLEDGE!

Contrary to what most people have been indoctrinated with, Judaism, Christianity and Islam are relatively new religions. Humanity goes back tens of thousands of years. These three have worked relentlessly to keep us from spiritual/occult knowledge and using this power, of which all of us have.

These so-called "religions" are built upon murder, torture, and lies and the only way any lie of this magnitude can survive is to create more and more lies and destroy the peoples who know the truth. Christianity is nothing more than a program. There is nothing religious or spiritual about it. Millions of people suffer depression, hopelessness, and confusion about life. The soul needs light and very few know this or actively practice the power meditation that will literally "save" their own souls. Because of a lack of knowledge and ignorance of the occult, Humanity as a whole has been placed under a powerful spell using occult power and indoctrinated not to question, concerning these three so-called "religions." This has been reinforced by centuries of Christians being duped into supplying their psychic energy and souls to be channeled into perpetuating this lie, which in the end, will only benefit a select few.

Quote from the Jewish Talmud:
Simeon Haddarsen, fol. 56-D: "When the Messiah comes every Jew will have 2800 slaves."
