I noticed it is very difficult to make comments in TOC now. It also has fewer comments compared to the past. What happened?
My experience was that some PC platforms could not assess to TOC comments or hidden from view. Others have problems after logging in to their email to post comments. Were all these problems created deliberately by TOC to be less friendly to their readers? That is the problem of having the website gazetted.:oIo:

I told this to Locke and GMS when TOC was first formed. It was surreptitiously floated with 2 people associated with the establishment. It was a one of those grand experiment to create a relief valve and a net to get alternative views. The straw that broke the camel's back was the article on homeless and it was time to close it down. Joshua became a handful. I remember the ruckus it created when Keechiu tried to tell the Ah Lau aunties not to talk to TOC at the PAP rally about the lunch packs. Andrew tried and failed to get it back. Thus the gazetting. They could not confine the boundaries.

I even recall how Locke told me how I was wrong.

The Gazetting is an act of bad faith by the PAP and a complete U Turn.

Now, when anyone posts comments their actual identity is revealed. as such, comments have dried up.

Ya, the interative element was gone. Now, it is just another news without any participation from readers. At least other bloggers still allow readers to post. TOC...sigh.....

the standard of their writings have also dropped. so there is nothing much to comment on and the new comment system does not help.
