Tiger Airways Takes Off Empty Leaving Passengers Behind

I've worked with degree holders who can't even write a letter. So it's not necessary that degree holders are more competent. The likes of Bill Gates, John Major and Sim Wong Hoo didn't have degrees to start with. The point is competency. The powers-that-be and kingmakers must be able to appoint and work with competent decision-makers.

That is why i do question the selection criteria for top positions. Why was Tiger's top job given to an angmo who has only a DIPLOMA? U mean our NUS/NTU degree holders will fare any worse than him?

The guys you mention are old timers. Some people had to work and therefore had to forgo their degreeto support their family. Tony Davis was appointed in 2004 and at age had no degree.

Bro
What are your trying to say?

Davis is either degree-less or imcompetent or both?
Its clearly that he's very much handicapped in Spore. He doesnt have a degree, he has no flair in his work & he hides behind his aide, Rosalynn, whenever shit hits the ceiling.
Then again, why was he even selected to be the CEO in the 1st place? was he cheap or is it due to his angmo-ness that our govt lurveeee so much?

And yes, as recent as 2004 and later, I still come across young graduates who can't even write a letter. Poverty and accidents in circumstances haven't been eradicted yet, the last time I check. There're still brilliant competent young people out there who have to foresake the chance of getting a degree. However, these people don't give a damn whether you judge them by their degrees or competency and achievements.

Anyway, your idea is stark that below age 40 in the 2000s without a degree equates incompetency and unsuitability for high calling. In your relentless pursuit of blaming PAP for whatever has gone wrong, you've ended up sounding more prejuicial than PAP. There're many opposition candidates without degrees. Why do you advocate voting for them?

What is your point? Tony Davis is competent even without a degree?

Thats all that was required. Nothing do with Sim, Gates etc. Try and stick to the topic. What has opposition politics got do with this.

Exactly, nothing to do with degree or diploma too.

Before you ask others to stick to the point, you stick to it first.

Fellows,
I have to disagree.
To helm such a big organisation as Tiger, you need very much a degree-laden individual. Sad but true as Spore recognises degree holders for top posts esp govt linked organisations.. Of coz there's exceptional cases, such as the current Tiger CEO. Which is what baffles me as to how he manage to get this top job with just a diploma.
There must be something special about him but certainly not his competency for this job.

Frankly what has opposition politics got to do with an underqualified and incompetent chap running an airline. There is no academic requirement to have any form of qualification to run for parliament in any country. Do you know why there are no such requirements?
