SINGAPORE: Police have detained three suspects aged between 15 and 30, who are believed to be connected to a robbery outside a gaming arcade at Yishun Central which happened earlier this month.
Two 13-year-old students who were playing in the arcade were robbed of their hand phone and cash worth a total of S$414 on June 4.
The suspects approached the victims and alleged that they were staring at them and brought them over to a secluded staircase landing.
The suspects threatened the boys to handover their valuables or risk getting assaulted. The boys gave up their belongings under threat.
The victims only lodged the report 16 days after the incident when their parents discovered the losses. All the three culprits were arrested in various parts of Yishun housing estate on Wednesday. They will be charged with robbery.
If found guilty, they can be jailed for up to 10 years and receive at least six strokes of the cane.
