Three more channels for Astro B.yond subscribers

KUALA LUMPUR: Astro’s B.yond subscribers will get three more HD channels from Oct 1 and sports subscribers will be able to closely follow the New Delhi Commonwealth Games starting on Oct 3 on six dedicated channels. The three new HD channels are One HD (channel 393), Star Movies HD (channel 433) and Astro’s Lifestyle channel (channel 706), a combination of programmes from the Food Network Asia HD and Life Inspired, Astro chief operating officer Henry Tan told a press conference.

One HD channel will focus on Korean entertainment while the Lifestyle channel will feature Food Network Asia HD’s travel and culinary programmes from 9am to 9pm, followed by Life Inspired on the art of living well. Star Movies HD will present the best of Hollywood films. “The Commonwealth Games on channels 821 to 826 will provide more than 400 hours of live coverage,” Tan said.

“We launched Astro B.yond at the end of last year with five HD channels and to date we have nine HD channels. “Come Oct 1, we’re adding three more, giving a total of 12 HD channels. We will be adding more channels in the months to come.” Astro’s current HD channels are National Geographic HD, History HD, HBO HD, ESPN HD, Astro Supersport HD, Astro Zhi Zun HD, FX HD, AXN HD and AXN Beyond HD.
