Three men arrested for armed robbery with hurt

SINGAPORE: Police have arrested three men, aged between 38 and 48 years old, for committing armed robbery with hurt in June.
On 18 June 2009 at about 12.20 pm, the three suspects robbed a 29-year-old Chinese man of his cash and belongings worth about $400, and stabbed him in the process.
The victim sustained stab wounds on his arm and the back of his body and was conveyed to the hospital for treatment. He is currently recovering from the injuries.
Officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division managed to establish the suspects' identities.
On 2 August 2009 at about 11.00 pm, the first suspect was arrested in the vicinity of Serangoon North.
Following the arrest of the first suspect, his other two accomplices were arrested the next day between 4.00 am and 4.00 pm in the vicinity of Hougang and Paya Lebar respectively.
The three suspects will be charged in court on Tuesday. If convicted, they face a jail term of up to 20 years and a minimum of 12 strokes of the cane. - CNA/de
