According to the statement of the victim, the girl was on her way to attend coaching classes in Arwal city when she was waylaid by three youths near Saren village. Though the minor girl tried to flee, they overpowered her and dragged her into the nearby bushes. The three youths then raped her by taking turns, reported IANS.
The accused, after committing the crime, fled the spot while the victim somehow managed to reach the nearby police station and filed a complaint. The case was immediately transferred to the women's police station for investigation.
Based on the complaint, police launched a manhunt and nabbed two youths while efforts are one to arrest the third accused.
"We immediately sent a team which managed to arrest two of the three accused. The third accused is absconding now," said an officer of the women's police station as quoted by IANS.
"The victim was sent for medical examination and the report confirmed the sexual assault," the official added.
