This shit piece of painting by sinkie artist sells to Ah thiong for $3.7 million?

now i know why you think after 2 election , PAP will fall.. when old people buy ipad to serf internet.. wahahahha.... you are so fucking naive.
When did I ever say PAP will fail? I merely said that more seats will be lost to opposition. You are a clown troll.

This is one of the ways people have been laundering money out of china or companies that they control. It can be art work, goods and services.

Maybe the other four were planted into the crowd by the artist.
Not surprise. The ah tiongs are good at these kind of things. Some tiong companies listed overseas even organized factory tours for foreign investors, and the factory actually belongs to another firm!

you people are just jealous that your 3rd world chink brothers have the money , in millions $ to pay for something.

well, i thought sinkies are rich, no meh? or all eaten up by your govt. wahhahhaah!! jealousy will not bring you cash. using your brains do and need balls too.

Ah Tiong has been using art for bribery and money laundering because you can't put an official price on a piece of art and even a piece of junk can also be seen by some as a piece of art.

Say for example if I want to bribe an ah tiong, I can go to his house, pretend to like one of the paintings in his house and offer to buy it for $1 million. I can then legally transfer that $1 mio to his account and no one can question me as to whether that piece of painting is realy worth $1 mio

One of this days when I'm free, I'll do a painting of my dog's balls and present it to a rich Ah Tiong.. I'll tell the Ah Tiong that the painting depicts a rural village in China..

The ah tiong will think the dog cock is the botak tree in his village.... hahaha

That painting still OK mah. Compare with this one, this is $75M

so how much this WIW paid for the painting on the wall?

Looks like a plate of dog shit at the corner of the full glass door, on the bottom left of the pic.

How about collaboration. Only partial amount was paid. With price of his art raised, there will be suckers to pay more in future sales.

Why wash money on a piece of junk from which you could never recoup your capital? (Unless there continue to be suckers like this in future auctions.)

I'd rather launder my money by starting a biz or buying an HDB resale flat.

THE phone rang, interrupting the artist's dinner with his daughter at an Italian restaurant near his home in Geylang. It was his art collector friend, with major news.

Master painter, sculptor and poet Tan Swie Hian, 69, learnt on Sunday that one of his paintings had been sold for $3.7 million in an auction in Beijing, a record for a work by a living Singapore artist.

The amount did not register immediately as the price was quoted in Chinese currency.

Laughing at the memory, he said: “I was so bad at calculation that my daughter had to help me convert the amount.

“When we realised it was in the millions of dollars, her first reaction was ‘Papa is fantastic!’”

Read the full report in The New Paper on Tuesday (Dec 4).

In that case what picasso painted were also junk,, ................kua bo mi kia..;.. "don't know what he is painting

I'm sure many of us can do a better painting than Mr Tan..

Do it then. What's stopping you? I await the results of your efforts with eager anticipation.

Successful paintings are created in a moment of inspiration.. So Boss, you must wait..

When that moment comes for me, I will make a lovely painting and sell it to a rich Ah Tiong for a million.. I'll then donate half of the proceeds to your Forum..

Run-of-the-mill impressionist painting, far from the quality of the masters. Nothing original or cutting edge. It's like writing a play in Shakespearean English, hoping to win the Nobel prize for literature.

art is very subjective. everyone interprets and appreciates the painting differently. for me, it's a great piece as the first impression gives me an orgasm. the tree symbolizes life but at the same time it can also mean a giant twat on a lover's cheebye. the moon symbolizes light but it can also mean subtle satisfaction by being bathed under the light, unlike the sun which scorches and dries up the cheebye. the reflection of the moon in the pond is especially balanced because the enjoyment of light goes both ways....up in the heavens where orgasm is at its peak and down in the watery realm where sperm swim. for the buyer, he bought it for his fond escapades with his mistress. :D

Good interpretation. It shows that you are as artistic (your poems as well) as you are quantitative (you raving about the virtues of a poly education).

Me, I just love to drink.
