We received this kind of punishment everyday in the 70s and many whom are smacked learnt their lessons and many of them are a somebody in the society...so this is a wrong method? There's nothing wrong, smacking the palms which are all flesh does not cause any injuries at all even though it looks very savage..

My teacher uses metal ruler. Then there was a 'chee-hong' male teacher only cane boys but not the girls.

Should have reported this matter to the Ministry of Education, she think this is 1960??? She should be FIRED!!!!! immediately.

I was whack with a 36 inch ruler till it broke..This bloody male
teacher still can't forget his face Mr. Ngui i think he passed
AWAY already. He looks like a TB patient...

let's have a class action to sue LKY MOE education system for whacking us like this back in the 60s, 70s and 80s.

This incident happened to me long long time,
when i was in Pri. 5 my form teacher(male)
can be very fierce and serious at time,
other time friendly. During one of his English lesson
he asked the class what is verb, adjective, noun..
many of them get stucked, and he became very
angry and fierce, we knew the next one could not
get the answer right will get punished, unluckily he
called for my name, after i answered the question
he asked me to step forward, i thought sure kena
punished, then he gave me a hard slap on my face,
I cried... then one classmate said that my answer
is correct, he then said sorry to me, i ignored him
and cried like mad. After the incident he treated me
very good and never punished the class again.
