Re: Watched Foodage Just now

Every year I and a group of friends will watch the Singapore Grand Prix. When I got my license, I used to drive along the same circuit at high speed just for the fun of it. The old circuit is still there albeit with some changes.:)

my time is blue tape. they will put all the blue tape in black plastic bag and hide it in the drain or on the canvas. there u can see a big board full of blue tape cover, u can choose and tell the runner. the runner will go and get for u. each tape cost 20, right? too long ago man, really cannot remember. last time blue tape also got delivery. they will put the list in the letter box and u can call them to order, they will send to u. :D

Re: Watched Foodage Just now

Nice thread!

I remember eating some very good hawker fare in the old Boat Quay where we used to go for lunch..before it got renovated. The other side across the bridge also had stalls including one very nice hokkien mee one..

The Colombo Court too had a good aircon food stall, of course, the A&W at Funan before it was renovated away also..

Blue Tapes were the tools of coming of age ritual....all the titles like sexboat, deep throat etc....forever etched in memory.....
The most popular boy in class was always the chap whose dad got the largest blue tape collection and/or porn magazines......after school always to his house for revision.

May be it was an eyesore for all the nice well paid civvies that came to occupy what was empty ground in front of High street (between Funan and High Street) heard many ugly buildings in that street faced pressure to clean up as well...

Remember this fruit? In the past the buah sentul can be found. Today I don't see any at all.

Ugly? But were they pre-WW2 buildings?

Someone mentioned before driving out the hawkers was to help boost foodcourt business in funan center.....no prize for guessing who owns funan center
