Going by the Westminster system, it is indeed the case that the MP's primary responsibility is to represent his constituency in the parliament. Stuff like removing graffiti in the elevators or cleaning up dog poop on the pavements usually fall under the purview of the municipal government.

Nonetheless, my take is that GMS is an attention seeking ignoramus who's also a little self-delusional about his own abilities. His posts are devoid of intellectual content and based mostly on anecdotal hearsay &mdash; a far cry from CSJ, JBJ, or TLH. From time to time, he would try to appear sophisticated by invoking episodes from Chinese history but his knowledge appears to be gleaned entirely from computer games and graphic novels.

The worst thing is that he doesn't seem to be motivated by any ideals, but only a desire to win MBT's seat. He rarely writes about how he would better the lives of his countrymen, but often boast about his imaginary trump cards for bettering MBT at the ballot box. To cover up his hollowness and shallowness, he uses big words like "socialist democrat" to describe himself. And while he only has a vague idea what a "socialist democrat" is, he hopes that you are nonetheless impressed that he calls himself one.

If he wins a seat, it would only be because folks in Tampines hate the PAP more than anything else.

Which would be quite unlikely, while there are a number of people out there who doesn't love the PAP much, there are also a number of people who have no idea who this clown GMS is.

If you throw in a heavyweight worker's party team to contest Tampines GRC led by LTK or Sylvia Lim, it might just tip the odds a bit. This clown against MBT?

Unfortunately MBT is going to stay for 5 more years and fuck up the housing system somemore now that his opponent is likely to be GMS and his clown squad. *Sigh*
