The Wayang Party claimed the State Media has been spinning tales. Let's take a look at one of the spins of Wayang Party:

#Myth 3: ISD provides the crucial lead which enabled the Malaysian Special Branch to capture Mas Selamat

This is utter rubbish! Nothing is further from the truth. If this is indeed so, the efforts of ISD would be acknowledged by the Malaysian authorities.

Instead, the Malaysian Home Affairs Minister Datuk Hishamudin Hussien attributed Mas Selamat’s capture to the assistance given by the Indonesian authorities:

“Our ties with Indonesia are very strong and without Indonesia’s cooperation, I do not think we were able to make the arrest after his escape from Singapore.” [source: NST]

It is quite obvious from the above statement that the crucial lead was provided by Indonesia and not Singapore as loudly proclaimed by the Straits Times.

As you can see, the Wayang Party want you to believe SIngapore did not contribute to Mas Selamat capture.

What the Wayang Party did not tell you, in the same NST report, it was information from Singapore and Indonesia led Malaysian authorities to the 48-year-old's hideout in Skudai, Johor.

It is learned that cooperation by Singaporean, Indonesian and Malaysian intelligence authorities led to the capture of Mas Selamat

Their information led Malaysian authorities to the 48-year-old's hideout in Skudai, Johor.

Matter of fact, it was intelligence from Singapore's ISD that lead to Mas Selamat's arrest in 2003 and 2006. Mind you, not once but twice.

Intelligence provided by Singapore led to Mas Selamat's first arrest by the Indonesian authorities on Bintan island in February, 2003. He was jailed 18 months for immigration offences.

A botched escape attempt during his imprisonment left him with a broken left leg and a permanent limp.

He was not handed over to Singapore after he served his prison term and went missing for about five months.

Again, with the help of intelligence from Singapore, he was captured a second time by the Indonesian authorities in early 2006 for using a fake identity card. This time, Indonesia granted Singapore's request to extradite him.

He was handed over in February 2006 and detained under the ISA.

We all know that the State Media is a great spinner. At a time, we need to know the truth, the Wayang Party has failed us with this little spin of their own.

Who can you trust? We cannot trust State Media for sure. We look for alternative news, we look for Wayang Party.

But Wayang Party has tarnished it's own reputation by not being truthful
