The Singapore water polo team - Trunk design gone too far?

Well......not everyone is well-endowed to be able to show off.

These guys thought they had an excellent opportunity to show the world (at least within Asia) what they wish they have got.

1. well, at least the sheep team is now known to have 2 pricks at the same time mah!
2. hahaha!
3. sheep first again.

The only 'punishment' they should get is a 3 days stay at KK masturbaturia. Their ejaculates will fertilize 10 thousand children. Babies all sure kick stomach ones. Risk of incest low. Mother just say father was member of water polo team, dun know who though.

GUANGZHOU, China (Reuters) - The skimpy trunks sported by Singapore's men's water polo team at the Asian Games are causing red faces back home in the conservative city-state, with many embarrassed by their design. The trunks display the Singaporean flag's white crescent moon on the front of the red briefs in what has been described as an inappropriate fashion.

The design -- lambasted by readers of Singapore's Straits Times newspaper as "disgusting," "nauseating" and "disgraceful" among other terms -- had not been approved by the country's Ministry of Information, Communication and the Arts (Mica), which governs the use of the flag. "We would have told them that their design is inappropriate, as we want elements of the flag to be treated with dignity," Singapore media quoted a Mica marketing official as saying.

Few Internet users had given the trunks the thumbs up, many seeing them an insult to the Southeast Asian nation's dignity. "There are 1000s of ways to show patroitism (sic) but sadly regrettably the chap who designed these trunks choose to do it in this disgusting and disrespecting way," one post read on the Straits Times website (www.straitstimes.com).

The trunks had also left the water polo team red-faced but ultimately powerless to do anything about it. "The competition rules state that the trunks must be presented at that start of competition and they must be used throughout the tournament," Jose Raymond, the Singapore delegation's head of public relations told Reuters.

"The team can't use other trunks." Singapore will play a Kuwait team competing under the banner of the International Olympic Committee in a battle for fifth place Thursday at Guangzhou's Tianhe Natatorium. Raymond said the team were "apologetic if they've offended anyone in any way... they meant the flag no disrespect."

Raymond also confirmed the trunks' design would be tweaked upon the team's return home, after local media quoted a Singapore swimming official saying the crescent moon was supposed to be placed "more toward the side." "Mica has given the team permission to use the trunks and then have them redesigned when they get back," he said. China will battle Kazakhstan for the men's gold later on Thursday.

maybe they love Singapore too much until they want to 'makelove' with Singapore flag???

Exactly, Union Jack and Star-Spangled Banner have been used for bikinis and underwears for decades. What's the problem?

No problem, except people see it as stylised one banana and two pricky balls. In the past the water polo team wore simple no-brand costume and brought back gold, now they wear so pretty costume and brings back nothing.

MITA is right. We do not want our school boys and girls to stand at attention every morning and imagine an underwear or skimpy costume is being hoisted up the flat pole.

They can't be charged/warned, unless they bring the trunks back to Singapore.

In that case, in rule-bound Singapore, they will be charged with exporting goods without a valid export licence and for not paying GST and income tax. The fine and jail term will even be heftier!

Maybe the original models had bigger waistlines so did not look so suggestive at pre-approval stage. now with the Herculean figures, perspective took a different angle altogether.

PS singapore waterpolo have never brought back gold in the Asian games, best was a bronze many years back. They are good only at the south east asian level.

Playing for fifth-place in that bended-prick trunk and embarrass the country ?

I rather they just disqualified themselves than to wear that obsence trunk again.

wahlaneh...
what an insult to our national flag!

Actually not. If it was put behind - that would be an insult. I never even noticed until I read this thread. Anyway, since it was highlighted, I think Sgns should be a little more light-hearted and give it a laugh. Alas there are ppl who take offense. It makes the team feel worse.

Cheers!

Aiyah. They played with the cards they were dealt and I am sure they tried their damnest. Just representing the nation is honorable enough; other teams are good too kno?

Cheers!

They policy-makers seem more rule-bound than the rest of the populace. Let the people have a free-run without the leash and better things will happen.

Cheers!

There is nothing wrong with the trunk design. The only thing those PAP loser did is to cramp down creativity that gives life the buzz.

Sinkieland is so boring, why live there. Worse still, populated by a bunch of cowards.

hi scum. There will be no problems at all when you die of cancer next year

:D

Singapore's flag has so many objects on it. Hard for design not to look inappropriate whichever way one designs it. Get the moon off, any one of the stars can still be stuck on the dick.

The best is just to have bands of colours - like Italy, France, etc.
