If Kee chiu was pronounced to be the next PeeM, that will have to be done by the end of the year. The electorate of Tanjong Pagar will have about 2 years to decided whether they want this moron as their PeeM. Its one thing for him to be an MP. Its quite another for him to be a PeeM. If he did not ride on Old Fart's coat tails to enter politics as a GRC MP, I am not sure he can he can win any single constituency. Indranee and Kee Chiu are not the 2 most popular MPs. if one of the oppos party put in a strong team to contest Tanjong Pagar, there is a chance that Kee Chiu can lose the seat. In which case, there has to be some fixing to get him into the PeeM post,

As long as PAP is able to continue delivering a clean and efficient goverment, Oppo cannot make much headway at the polls. Most voters are not unduly concerned about issues such as transparency, accountability, meritocracy, high pay of ministers and even influx of FTs. And PAP arrogance and minor hiccups such as the occasional train breakdowns and flooding are not going to cost them Sinkie votes.

U make some good points. the fact is that some of the gang of 16 are unpalatable to the public. I can't see people like Janil and Iswaran being designated as the next PeeM based on race. I cannot see Jo the Ho, and DisGraceFu also being the designated one due to too much stupid comments and baggage. Keechiu the boyscout is also a risk, as he is perceived to be a mental lightweight. Masagoes the chapcheng Malay also will not be the designate PeeM due simply to the fact that 2 fake Malays will be in the position of President and PeeM. The field is therefore quite small and not quite 16. Also, the designate has to be able to win his own seat in his constituency. this is not a given, because Wooden almost lost Marine Parade when unsavoury elements were parachuted into his consituency. The PAP survey machinery is working overtime to guage voter sentiment. This is tricky for the PAP. What if the Gang of 16 chooses Keechiu. The electorate might say "Hell No", and they might not vote him in to win his seat. Then how can he become a PeeM if he lost his Parliamentary seat. all these are big question marks for the PAP.

The successor designate has to have the following virtues:
1) Understand that he might be PeeM for only one term because he is a seat warmer for Hongyi.
2) He must be unquestioningly loyal and cover Familee's ass when they fuck up. Just like Wooden covered the Familee's corruption over the HPL condo. Also, must be like Wooden who faithfully vacated his seat when told to do so and make way for Gay Loong.
3) Be willing to put up with Gay Loong and Whore Jinx looking over his shoulder
4) Be differential and respectful to Hongyi and show his future boss the ropes

One other point I need to add is the next PM must have the support of the oligarchs. An example will be KFC...they r the old rich elites of Singkieland n have connections to the Lee's. The Oligarchs appoint the PeeM so that he can take care of their business and allow them to make obscene amounts of money in quiet and peace. Oligarchs like Kwas, Lees, Wees, etc don't care to approve the next PeeM. They only care that the Lee family who fronts for them will take care of this aspect. eg. when GCT was appointed as PeeM, they never needed to approve him because they know he was put in place by their man LKY, and hence will make sure business continues as usual. The next PeeM appointed by Gay Loong will also look after their interest. So, no need to approve.
