Any one buying land in JB? Seem a lot of ppl left out land as investment option (heard a lot of condo, apt, shop etc)...mayb singaporean cant buy johor land in large scale? Being a malaysian local that in ppty industry for N years... land still the best if you have connection with developer. Your cash cow is developers... buying ppty is in very low food chain, unless it is lower than market price, if not you dun earn much.
 
Now situation is, land owner (malay) sell to land buyer (chinese, like me and others acting as group as the amount of money is not small). Then connect with developer, resell to them. Developer then aim local malaysian (like afiniti b4 ballot a lot of units ady taken up by local insiders) n lastly to final user... those who have not connected and singaporean. Lastly, Singaporean will play among themselves.

You forget to add it is mainly the 60.1% Singaporeans who are brainwashed by miw, the msm and listen to them only. Temasek don't come in, then they don't come in. Temasek comes in with Afinity then they come in - some more ballot also can. They really played among themselves thinking that Temasek can look after their interests just like trusting the miw.
 
It's too much work, language is a problem, financing costs are high and its not home ground (for Singaporeans). Decided to look at SG and London for opportunities instead, but have yet to pull the trigger.

2 schools of thoughts imo.

Prices are definitely high now with element of speculation.

However, looking at iskandar masterplan, there seems to be potential, and even at today's crazy prices, it still is a big discount to SG's price.

For those who find the prices in Iskandar too high already, can check out Phillipines Manila Bay area. Several casinos under construction (including Resorts World Manila Bayshore, The Belle Grande) and Solaire Resorts and Casinos just opened this year.

am looking at Monarch Parksuites (google for details). Fully furnished at abt s$380psf for small studio (28sqm).
 
For those who find the prices in Iskandar too high already, can check out Phillipines Manila Bay area. Several casinos under construction (including Resorts World Manila Bayshore, The Belle Grande) and Solaire Resorts and Casinos just opened this year.

Iskandar prices are still reasonable now but they are no longer at bargain-level.
 
Was talking to a Datuk Seri yesterday, and his take was that: with the recent Johor setbacks in GE 13, the new Menteri Besar Khaled Nordin and Umno are realising the dangers of developing Johor, without flow-through benefits to the local population.

He believes that Khaled will pay greater attention to developing local infrastructure in mature areas & crime issues and thus, he has recently bought a piece of land in Permas Jaya (Khaled's constituency) to develop. Details of his latest venture are still rather sketchy though..... Will advise all to take this news with a pinch of salt, and wait & see how Khaled's plans are.......
 
Yes, I think there is still a lot of room for price increase in iskandar. I am now planning to lease out my HH unit at The Hills.

Philippines is an alternative option for those who want to diversify. Also, Manila Bay area is relatively new development. More risky, but higher potential return. Check out just opened Solaire Resorts (trip advisor review). Monarch Parksuites is selling phase one now.

Iskandar prices are still reasonable now but they are no longer at bargain-level.
