The demise of Indonesia

indonesia is the largest and most resilient economy in South East Asia. they can counter balance China in the long run.
don't under estimate Indon, they have not even started yet. By then, Singapore will have no place and will have to choose to go under Muttland or be part of Indon. None of them looks good.
Move capital to Borneo , want to bao jiak some people in medium / long term

Indonesia’s President-elect Prabowo Subianto plans to fund his spending promises by steadily increasing the debt ratio to its highest in two decades.

He aims to raise the debt-to-gross domestic product ratio by 2 percentage points annually over the next five years, according to people familiar with the matter.

The gradual increase would give his economic team room to adjust to any headwinds, compared with raising debt in one sweep, said the people, who asked not to be named discussing private matters.

The whole of Borneo including Brunei and Malaysia doesn't have a world class port.
If they build it, it will be the trade destination.
They do have world class ports but as it lies outside of the trade route, the cargo numbers are not great. Just enough for their small population for such a huge island.

USD-IDR is 16,000 now. Rupiah has been depreciated almost 10% in 12 months. A broke Indonesia is not good for Singapore. When that happens, they will bully and mess with us.

millions of young indons play mobile games made in sillycon valley. mobile tech savvy but hooked on games and in app purchases.

The location for new capital was badly chosen. They wanted it to Be central and strengthened central government hold of Borneo, plus nearer to mainland asia. But there is no proper infrastructure on that location. No power. No harbour. No roads.
I would prefer if they had chosen Dumai, or pulau karimun, on straits of Malacca. Investors will quickly dump their money there due to potential.
To put indon Leo for better movement mah
