Tharman's Speech On Taxes That Demolished The Entire Opposition's Social Proposals!

It is easy to just say give you more money, increasing spending on various social projects. What sinkies are all thinking about is 'Who pays for all these?' That's the key question that the Opposition never fully explains. Most sinkie voters are smart enough to ask this question, and realize that the Opposition has no concrete ideas on how to fund their programs. Sinkies have seen what happened to Greece. Sinkies who worked in Europe complain about the huge amount of taxes they have to pay.

To many of my grassroots pals, kakis and myself, this is probably one of the best rally speech we listened to, even though the turnout is small. People know when they are listening to quality and when they are listening to garbage. You can't bluff sinkie voters the same way you bluff Pinoy, Ah Neh, Greek and European voters.

It is really the best speech for any thinking Singaporean. It exposes the lack of opposition to have any expertise to respond and it is something they have to think hard. Even SDP's response was a very shallow one, clearly showing how little they know. The proposal to cut defence's expenditure by a big 33% to fund healthcare expenditure may sound little to the average layperson and most Singaporeans really have no idea, but it has tremendous repercussions for Singapore's geopolitics and the signals it sent out to the world especially its neighbours. Geopolitics - such a big word ... ok, I stop here and this forum clearly has no idea what it is anyway. :o

this government is so good at sucking money and accumulating billions upon billions and wasting billions upon billions on useless attention seeking events and white elephants but they cant even spare a dime for the poor?

other oecd countries do 10 times as much for their citizens,spending up to 20 percent gdp on welfare for their people.this PAP spends less than 2 percent gdp on government assistance and barely does jackshit at all and they are patting themselves on the back like they did a good job,do you have any shame?have u seen any country in the world where the government care less about their citizens?other than dictatorships like north korea and african nations?

He is saying that our tax rate is low. However, he is not telling us that they are hiding taxes under different names. The most obvious one is coe and erp. They are introducing a new one called Medishield life. This is the most effective tax which is based on age and health condition regardless of wealth. Don't pay you go to jail. And the claim that the middle income is paying less tax.

Sinkees are too dumb to think. Sinkees pay low taxes but lots of fees and exhorbitant prices for basic needs. Take that all into account, sinkees are screwed.
