SINGAPORE: Six people were injured at Ghim Moh Hawker Centre at noon on Thursday.
According to a Ministry of Manpower (MOM) statement, the accident involved the unintended release of hot soya bean milk from a pressure cooker at the 'Original Soya Bean & Chin Chow' stall.
Three employees at the stall, as well as three members of the public who were seated in front of the stall, were injured. They have since been discharged from hospital.
Mr Silas Sng, director of Occupational Safety & Health Inspectorate at MOM said: "MOM's OSH Inspectorate immediately commenced investigations on-site. Our officers have told the stallholder to stop the use of the pressure cooker until investigations are complete.
"All users of pressure cookers as well as other electrical appliances should always follow the precautions specified by manufacturers. For example, users should heed the warning signs that prohibit the opening of the cooker while it is still under pressure. Doing otherwise could lead to injury or accidents."
He added that the ministry is currently investigating the incident.
