I am glad the court found Mindef liable for the NSman who remained in a comatose state.

Really a disgrace when what was clear was that

1) He was still on duty as the duty storeman
2) He was in army gear
3) He was in camp
4) No one knew what had happenned
5) No prior medical history or any history of he behaving oddly

What was the basis of walking away from doing the decent thing? You want to run a fucking country and yet you want to penny pinch. Fucking PMs wife can lose Billions but can't pay for a citizen who will never smell roses for doing something that was asked of him by the state.

This country does not need hip hop MPs or MPs who need to be escorted by Sr Nursing staff from from the front of the building to visit a colleague that they can't even see the chap as it is Burns ICU and kept isolated. Why pay money putting up direction signs when a fucking low life MPs can't even seem to find the ward.

Did anyone go see this kid when was warded.

Why are we paying so much for ministers and arseholes who wanted to walk away with no basis when the kid was doing NS which is a state obligation.

Bro, I can tell you that I am so mad about this. Can you imagine how many families out there in a similar condition that might not have the means or the will to sue.

I am seriously shocked that this went past the big brass and no one seemed to know what they were doing. The argument by Mindef legal was also shocking. The premises was the it would open the flood gates if this was allowed.

Where is the duty of care. We are also talking about NS, not some job that the kid vounteered for.

SPH, the prostitutes from Toa Payoh kept writing articles that was quite hazy when it was very clear that he was the duty storeman.

Sometime in 1980s, NS OCT got shot in the back and died during exercise. Whole bunch of trainers who were officers from elite OCS gave false testimonies until one of their own told the truth on religious ground and revealed the conspiracy to lie befoire the trial. Fuckers never learn.

I hope Mindef sees its own ways and give compensation, and a personal apology. Its the least they can do; after all, there are many thousands who are enlisted every year and Mindef has a responsibility to each and every parent to bring home their sons after 2 years- in one piece, alive and kicking- including the brain.

The legal wrangling or definition aside I am quite personally disgusted by how Mindef sought to avoid responsibility. The easy way is well the civil service , and perhaps the pap way now, can't give them to much welfare, or else they will refuse to work, can't allow them to claim compensation in marginal cases just in case there is a flood case of claims. I believe I see the same "mindset" at work.

I am glad he won, and personally I find it hard to swallow the mindef claim, that he was off duty in camp and thus not considered on duty. What gives ? Every NS man and his father and grandfather knows that the minute u are in camp whether u are officially on duty or off and the bell goes up for any emergency u are on call.

In that case, even they have failed their own ancestors. Even the ancient books created in the imperial Chinese times(by people, for example, like Sun Tzu, and Zhuge Liang) say that leadership is most important during a crisis, and not during an economical boom.

If LKY is a guy who consistently looks in the past, then he do would well to read some books written by these great Chinese tacticans. Instead of just crowing on well he did against the Communists- and then expecting another landslide win in the polls.
