Probably so. They tried hard to market 100plus for the past month but I doubt it worked.

F&N lost bottliing rights for Cocoa-Cola, so they sell as they ran out of ideas.

Still F&N is like part of Singapore heritage...especially the lion logo...now they dropped the lion logo...

in order to survive, they have to find some new products / ideas...unforunately, they lose the Coca Cola thingy but its inevitable...they are not the brand owner in any case.

They don't have a bottling plant in Singapore do they? That limits kinda the type of products they can launch / produce? Not beer because they don't have a brewery.....

sigh...I miss their classic bottle design...with orange...collector item liao...

So you need lots of cash to play with the big boys.

Even if what you say, the only news, rumours,.. I've ever heard about Temasek is the: cronyism at the highest level(Ms Ho), sky high salaries, no accountability whatsoever AND losses on a massive scale.

If the FamiLee wants to use their own money thats their business but they are using tax payers money to play with the big boys. If they can't even play with the small boys what's the point in risking bigger losses with the big boys

You don't see other gov'ts "investing" taxpayers money do you Obviously LKY really thinks he owns Spore

For buyers, maybe Hong Kong's MTR? :p It would be the biggest irony if that happened as the entity still makes a bit of money overall despite its generally-socialist approach in pricing.

Kirin are trying to make bigger inroads in their beverages business. They are quite big in beer worldwide but tend to be stronger in beverages in Japan. Good move for them.

Temasek sold for quite a good price. Based on yahoo website, the share price was last at $6+ in mid 2007. If they have better opportunities, perhaps it's a good chance to get out at a good price. Question is whether they have better opportunities with better returns.
