Teen charged for underage sex

A teen boy has been charged for a spate of crimes, including having sex with an underage girl, theft and making a false police report.
The teen, Lorenzo, was a 16-year-old secondary school student when he had sex with a 13-year-old girl last year. He had got to know the girl through friends and the two soon became a couple. A week after, he invited the girl to his house and took her into his room where they became intimate.
The two eventually had sex. Several days later, Lorenzo went around telling his friends that he "wants to vomit whenever he sees his girlfriend's photo". The girl was enraged upon hearing this and broke up with him. She then made a police report to expose their sexual encounter.
Lorenzo was however, unrepentant, and went on to commit more crimes after he was charged in August last year. In the same month, he tried to extort money from a taxi driver. He had fallen asleep in the taxi and was woken up by the driver, Mr Huang Zhong Zhi.
Lorenzo suddenly demanded $100 from Mr Huang, threatening that he would make a police report and say that Huang had molested him. Mr Huang turned him down flatly and instead drove Lorenzo to a police station in Yishun North.
There, Lorenzo made a false police report, alleging that Huang had pulled off the teen's jeans and underwear in the taxi, then held Lorenzo's penis for ten minutes until the teen ejaculated. Lorenzo was also caught for theft twice this year. He had stolen $50 from a 16-year-old teen boy in February and a mobile phone from a 16-year-old teen girl later in July.
If convicted of having carnal relations with a girl below 16 years old, he can be jailed up to ten years, or fined, or both.
