Have to say well done to CSJ.
He has immediately declared that SDP would not be contesting and that Hougang SMC must not go to PAP.
Say what u want about him, but he's 100% true opposition.
There was a time when he was posting in Delphi SBF using his own name. Recall that he was always polite even when criticising the PAP, but not once did he criticise or bad mouth other opposition parties or members.

If all oppos says they want to constest in Hougang it is a good strategy if you don't want PAP to win. Then come to the nomination day all pull out and leave WP to fight PAP.

TJS has been smitten by his 25% showing in the PE. He thinks that half the galaxy now revolves around him and he is the new messiah (used to be KJ thinking that, but he was quickly disbursed of that notion when people abandoned him and told him to fxxk water spider).

Frankly without the SDP platform giving him full support during the GE and propelling him to fame, he would have been a complete unknown. And today the President will be Mr Tan Cheng Bock.

TJS is merely using all these to propel himself and put himself on the national spotlight, for whatever reason. Heaven forbid all it is done out of pure ego. I'm sure there is some other purpose, or that man is truly an egomaniac greater than even our resident GMS!!

This is not about insulting or rejecting people's democratic choice. If you put a cockroach on the ballot slip, 25% of hard core anti PAP voters will also vote the cockroach. That does not mean the cockroach was any different from the insect it had been all along.

Exactly. Tan Jee Say was against 2 former PAP chaps and got 25%.

TCB had middle ground and even some oppo block support because he was seen as someone who was willing to be critical of the estab, yet at the same time above party politics and not associated with the usual morons.

Anyway, back to the topic, it amazes me that some seasoned politicians people actually think that it is OK for HG to be contested by a non WP candidate if a "consensus" somehow can be reached. I wonder what's going through their brains. Reaching a consensus for a non WP candidate to contest means in effect persuading WP to relinquish HG to another party. What kind of politician would allow such an idea to be mouthed in public?

Though I have voted for him during PE, I realised the populations desire for an activist president is not true. So this time round we should not make the same mistake because he has indirectly handed over istana chair to Tony Tan. We don't want Hougang vacant seat to be taken by PAP if he contest, otherwise he is considered to have erred twice.

I am not sure if he learnt the lessons from PE. With all the talk etc....It could be a deception to mislead PAP into thinking that there will be a 3 corner. A step to help push PM to decide fast on BE date. But at the last minute before registration closes, all pull back and let WP face PAP. Ho Say liow.....
