Taiwanese Train Driver saved 400 passengers after he got hit by stroke

He is now half dead himself in the hospital ICU due to brain stroke, but before he totally lost his own consciousness he pulled the breaks and stopped the train so that passengers were not proceeding on run away train. He fainted with his hands on the break handles and had obviously struggled very hard to use his last bit of strength to get the train stopped. Passengers are so greatful for his act after learning this. Hospital found his blood vessels burst in his brains, he is age 54.

19日晚間一列開往台東的莒光號，正從善化站出發時，列車駕駛卻瞬間腦溢血陷入昏迷，他在倒下前用盡最後一道力氣拉緊手煞車，避免火車無人駕駛、成功保護車上400名乘客的安全。只是這名駕駛因為嚴重腦溢血，至今還在住院和死神拔河。

他是54歲的江枝福，這位20多年經驗的台鐵老車長，堅守工作崗位，中風瞬間還在維護火車安全，守護400名乘客性命。台鐵高雄機務段長吳文烈：「意識都已經昏迷了，他還是手握住，那個手煞車。」 19日晚間，開往台東的莒光號97列次從台中豐原開往台南善化，列車正從善化站出發，駕駛江枝福卻在此時腦溢血，昏迷前他用最後一絲力氣，拉下煞車讓火車停住，保住車上400名乘客的性命。吳文烈：「乘客知道狀況的時候，他們很感謝，這位司機員江枝福，雖然已經快要倒下去了，最後一道力氣還把列車停下來，所以知道的乘客都很感謝。」

擔心火車無人駕駛，江枝福在倒下前一秒，想得還是乘客安全，最後列車由其他駕駛接手，將每一名乘客平安送抵目的地。吳文烈：「江枝福平常身體很健康，平常也有在做運動。」

鞠躬盡瘁，江枝福到現在還在住院和死神拔河，他用生命保護車上乘客的事蹟，讓台鐵同事和身邊親友為之動容。
