彰化市1名73歲的柯姓老婦，去年4月被人發現倒臥在自家的雞舍，但已經明顯死亡，且發現他的下半身褲子遭褪下，經鑑定後確認遭到侵犯。此案引發檢警關注，經追查後發現是1名38歲的陳姓男子所為。他稱說自己吸食強力膠後缺錢，原本行竊由偷變搶，臨時起意徒手勒斃婦人，事後還對她辱屍。法院一審判無期徒刑，上訴二審維持原判、褫奪公權終身，全案可上訴。
法院判決指出，這起事件發生在去年4月30日；前海軍陸戰隊員陳姓男子，再吸食強力膠之後，因缺錢花用騎腳踏車到附近一處工寮內搜刮財物。當時柯姓老婦正好到工寮準備餵雞，看到陳男行為詭異質問他「在幹嘛？」雙方一言不合發生口角衝突，期間陳男雙手緊掐柯婦脖子導致窒息身亡，之後抱進貨櫃屋內脫去她衣褲指侵、舔胸，污辱被害人屍體，接著拿走對方皮包內1950元現金逃逸。
警方獲報循線展開調查，最後找到陳男；進一步追查發現，陳男曾在海軍陸戰隊服役，2003年服役期間涉嫌犯下妨害性自主罪，遭判處徒刑10年，也因此開除軍籍，之後因四處遊蕩打零工，成為當地警方列管人口，還犯下竊盜、妨害性自主、偽造文書、搶奪、無故侵入住宅等前科。
全案進入法院審理，陳男在犯案前曾吸食強力膠，導致意識不清；但法官認為案發當下，陳男意識清楚，審酌他由偷變搶，進而殺害柯姓老婦還侮辱屍體，甚至還編出數個謊言企圖影響辦案，事後也未和被害人家屬和解。經過種種評估後，彰化地院一審判處他無期徒刑。
全案上訴二審，台中高分院法官認為，陳男還有教化可能，且在服刑時常抄心經迴向給被害人，並照顧弱勢受刑人，認為他良心未泯，維持原判無期徒刑，全案仍可上訴。

A 73-year-old Ke surnamed woman in Changhua City was found lying in her henhouse in April last year, but she has apparently died, and her lower body pants were found to have fallen off. It was identified as a violation after being identified. The case attracted the attention of prosecutors, who were found to have been committed by a 38-year-old man named Chen after investigation. Further investigation revealed that Chen Nan had served in the Marine Corps and was suspected of committing an offence of obstructive autonomy during his 2003 service. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison and expelled from military service. After loitering and doing odd jobs, he became a local police population, and committed crimes such as theft, obstructive autonomy, forgery of documents, looting, and intrusion into the house for no reason.
The whole case went to court for trial. Chen Nan drank super glue before committing the crime, which resulted in unclear consciousness; but the judge believed that at the moment of the incident, Chen Nan was aware of the situation and judged him to change from stealing to stealing, and then killed the old woman named Ko and insulted the body. He even made up a few lies to try to influence the handling of the case, and afterwards he did not reconcile with the victim's family. After various assessments, the first trial of the Changhua District Court sentenced him to life imprisonment.
In the second instance of the appeal, the judge of the Taichung High Branch believed that Chen Nan still had the possibility of enlightenment, and he often copied the Heart Sutra to the victim while serving his sentence, and took care of the vulnerable prisoners.
