交通部觀光局針對18個主要觀光遊憩區做排名統計，數據指出「旗津」去年的旅遊人次減少了104萬，減幅超過20%。其中衰退最多的是「打狗英國領事館」，因為受到陸客限縮影響，觀光客大減，連續2年雪崩式下滑！

根據《自由時報》報導，觀光局統計18個主要觀光遊憩區，去年整體遊客比前年減少約93萬人次，跌幅2.88%。其中衰退最嚴重的是打狗英國領事館，因為這2年受到陸客限縮影響，2016年減少到90萬人次，去年更慘，腰斬為47萬6000人次，預計今年人次仍難以回升。
而旗津觀光客也從前年的500萬餘人次，去年大減至400萬餘人次，減少了104萬人，減幅高達20%。旗津店家指出，交通局為了改善空汙，只要連續3天以上的假期，摩托車都不能上渡輪，導致機車遊客減少，而高雄市府認為是受到陸客限縮的影響，旗津遊客才會衰退。
不過，還是有觀光景點人氣逆勢上漲，像是「澄清湖」風景區，因為推動高雄市民免費入園，去年澄清湖遊客大增55萬人次，增幅超過41%。
