PHUKET: A Singaporean woman was killed and seven others, including her four compatriots, injured when a car she was driving hit a small tour bus while coming downhill on a hilly road Muang district on a hilly road Muang district on Friday night.

The accident was reported around 10.50pm, said Pol Capt Charnnarong Prakhongkua, an investigation officer at Karon police station.

Police, disaster prevention and mitigation officials and rescue workers arrived at the scene and found a badly damaged Toyota Yaris with Phuket licence plates and a small white bus with Phuket licence plates and a broken windscreen on Patak Road in tambon Karon.

A preliminary investigation found that the car was travelling from tambon Chalong to tambon Karon. While the car was coming downhill, the driver lost control of her vehicle, causing it to hit the bus, which earlier took a group of tourists to Kata beach.

The impact of the crash caused five Singaporean tourists including the driver, the bus driver and two guides to sustain injuries.

It's safe to travel in tourist buses during the day.

They should know better than to sit in a car with a woman driver.

So fortunate, they are all boostered and can go travelling

Phuket Road should be peaceful kind. KNN gansiokbin type of driver .

21yr old driver... Probably going too fast on a hilly winding road..

For this accident don't know whose fault but Thailand has one of the most jialat stats in the region when it comes to fatal road accidents. Can read on the Thai news portals if you don't believe me.

Lost control when going downhill. Free gear all the way down to save petrol izzit ?

I dare say it's always risky for a 21 years old Sinkie to drive in a foreign country especially in a country like Thailand where the locals have a fuck care attitude on the roads.

most sinkie aunties don’t know how to shift to lower gear when going downhill. in fact cecas and chinks don’t shift to lower gears when navigating windy roads downhill in californicate. they either brake hard or go too fast and lose control. bunch of novices.

The road so wide and we'll lit, still can hit that bus!!
This is the effect of drivers being in a sheltered driving environment in SG.
No two-lane roads in Sg means drivers cannot practised overtaking and their judgement of distance and speed is not refined.
No discretionary turns at junctions and lanes so skills not developed.
All hilly roads flattened so control of vehicles on inclines compromised.
All same lane carriageway, removes instincts for safety on other dual lane roads.
Sinkies better not drive in other countries as their senses are not developed for real world driving

Thais are mostly Buddhist. To them, death could means a better life after reincarnation so they drive like mad men.

BTW, you can mod your car like nobody business in Thailand. My ex-colleague who's Thai was really deep into this hobby where he regularly swop car engines like changing underwear.
