Swing-votes in the next General Election

The idea is so that there will be no permanent benefits for the whole country. By dividing it..it can be cancelled anytime.

Yes, STAGED TO FIX. It's a LEEcision similar to having a casino in the country. The LEEders need it to ensure that they can continue to draw their million$.

Hardcore opposition and pap supporters only form the minority. Majority is still considered the middle ground swing voters.

The fact remains this grouping has always voted for pap despite being in the swing voters segment for the lack of credible choice.

Having to choose between 3rd rated opposition and pap is a choice between voting for a party they distrust and a party they dislike. Essentially it a false choice.

And for as long as this distrust remains, pap will continue with their free play knowing that voters will still grudgingly vote for them.

Massive swing votes in Malaysia, 9 May 2018 gave Pakatan Harapan coalition an unexpected victory :roflmao:

This is an alert for Sinkieland

Can the Merdeka Generation Package has the same election effect as the Pioneer Generation Package ?

Why is the government dividing its citizens into Pioneer, Merdeka and the rest in no man's land ? The worst part is the 3 different groups get different treatments. How can you call yourself One Singapore One People when you deliberately divide them, preferring one group and discriminating another. Why can't the medical benefits be shared across citizens of all ages ?

It depends on our people, each particular generation,
whether pioneer generation, merdeka generation, Gen X or Gen Y dare to send a signal to the wrong doers that what they did is wrong.

Buyers of Resale HDB
The recent decline in HDB prices is a sharp contrast to leasehold private-properties. While there is a good chance for leasehold private properties to recycle their assets through enbloc, new owners of Resale HDBs realized that HDB will not retain value over an extended period of time without SERS.

Policymakers can only buy time by launching 50 or 60-years leasehold new HDBs which makes the older HDB looks young on paper, and leave the job of defusing this time-bomb to the next generation's leadership.

Now the PM personally assures this group:

Is there a public housing crisis in Singapore?
4 Sept 2018
https://akikonomu.blogspot.com/2018/08/is-there-public-housing-crisis-in.html

Should the state allow public housing in estate councils to age to full-term? If no, this poses an urban redevelopment problem of persuading homeowners to give up their leases. If yes, this creates a housing supply and demand shock as entire cohorts of homeowners are suddenly evicted and seek new public housing, which hopefully is available and hopefully are affordable.

HDBs are an asset but it is more like a car as it enters of second half of it's remaining lease.

Taxi Drivers / Private-Hire Drivers
There are almost 80,000 taxi-drivers and private-hire drivers on the road (some are not full-time).

About 1/4 are taxi-drivers. Traditionally, Taxi-drivers have been vocal against the incumbent but also tend to eventually reserve their votes for them. The emergence of PH in the past 4-5 years took a toll on their earnings. Next, PH Driver's work have been tougher lately after being messed-up by GRAB and licensing issues. The emergence of companies hiring Malaysians to drive the PH vehicles, will further add stress to this sector.

Private-hire drivers face roadblocks as they seek way out of once-lucrative industry

There are many existing or former private-hire car drivers in a similar predicament, including the thousands who recently left the industry following the new licensing regime

In July, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) said nearly half of the private-hire car drivers — 20,900 out of 42,900 — who received a one-year concession to attend a course and pass a test to obtain their vocational licence failed or did not attempt the test. Those who received the licence numbered 22,000.

Drivers who applied for the Private Hire Car Driver’s Vocational Licence (PDVL) before July last year had to undergo the course and pass the test by Jun 30 this year to continue offering the service. The licence was introduced last year to ensure that drivers had the requisite skills to provide the service safely.

I dont belong to those 70% nincompoop. I am not with the majority

For years, these selfish 70% want oppositions but not in their wards. Many are spineless in uniformed and civil-service who enjoy regular work-hours, stable job, good pays and high bonuses and looks down those who are struggling outside. Try talking to those who have nua over 2 decades in uniformed and civil service.

Why not screw them harder and give the incumbent a stronger mandate?
We need to sink the country to wake them up right?

Please enlighten yours truly.
Tommy Koh urges our LGBT community to bring a class action to challenge the constitutionality of Section 377A (to allow gay sex).

If approved, will the votes gained from the LGBT during elections, able to offset the loss of votes from conservative religious groups in Singapore?

There is NO way that the PAP will lose an election; even Trump will not win an election here.

When the PM is in charge of the Election Department, how can he lose an election?
