据美国《国会山报》7月14日报道，《国会山报》和美国哈里斯（HarrisX）民意调查公司共同进行的一项调查显示，美国66%的登记选民认为用“功夫流感”或“中国病毒”来指代新冠病毒是不合适的，而34%认为这样说没问题。
《国会山报》和哈里斯公司于7月3日至4日，联合对933名注册选民进行了这项调查。调查发现，从党派来看，83%的民主党支持者和66%的无党派人士认为，在谈论新型冠状病毒时使用上述两个词语是不恰当的。56%的共和党支持者则认为，共和党籍的总统特朗普反复使用的这些词语是恰当的。
在特朗普支持者当中，有62%认为这些措辞恰当，38%认为不恰当。而在那些不支持特朗普的人中，有多达89%的人认为这些词语不合适，只有11%的人认为合适。
报道称， 批评人士指出，美国社会针对亚裔美国人的袭击活动有所增加，特朗普的言论是导致这种情况的部分原因。

According to a survey conducted by Capitol Hill and Harris x, 66% of registered voters in the United States believe that it is inappropriate to use "Kung Fu flu" or "Chinese virus" to refer to the new coronavirus, while 34% think it is OK to say so.
Capitol Hill and Harris Co. conducted the survey on 933 registered voters from July 3 to 4. The survey found that novel coronavirus was not appropriate when discussing 83% New Democratic Party members and 66% non party personages from the party perspective. Fifty six percent of Republican supporters said the words repeatedly used by Republican president trump were appropriate.
Among trump supporters, 62% thought the wording was appropriate and 38% said it was inappropriate. Among those who did not support trump, as many as 89% thought the words were inappropriate and only 11% thought they were appropriate.
According to the report, critics have pointed out that attacks against Asian Americans have increased in the United States, and Trump's remarks are part of the reason for this situation.
