The reason why this is not happening is because the PAP does not want singkies to be industry leaders. Any industry leader will be threat to its power base...that is why those that own the country are those that are in power. The richest singkies are mostly old money. Property, banking etc. And the Wees, Kwas and Lees are and should be pro PAP. Look at Sim Wong Hoo, a rising star in the tech industry,,when the PAP knew he could not be controlled, he was 'dealt' with by underhanded means,,or rather industry support was given to other companies of Temasek link companies etc. True Sim made his own mistakes but PAP also had its hand.that's for sure. that's why, SG must have a core group of singaporeans in all critical areas of our economy, including power, water generation, lift maintenance, MRT, SBS ops, etc
And in order to attract FDI etc into singkieland, pap has to ensure polices favour such investors,...in most countries, FDI is brought in to develop local industries and all countries around the world have favourable policies for domestic companies. Look at all the issue investing in Ah tiong land, Viet Cong land, Kim Chi land, Nip land etc. Foreigners don't just come in and control the economy. In singkieland, the domestic industry big players are the GLCs and the usual oligarchs. The FDI plays the rest which are no threat to the PAP. A potential separate powerbase is not allowed in Singkieland,,,and why the open door policy to foreigners? because they will ensure the pap remains in power. Pro singkie policies by the oppos can always be classed as Xenophobic etc,,,
