Mum makes son 'snatch' seat from old woman
"Maybe she was really tired," says Cleo, who saw this happen, "but what values are she teaching her son?"
The STOMPer related the incident:
"Tthis happened on Aug23 at around 8pm or so on the east bound train.
"The train was really packed then.
"At City Hall station, some passengers had alighted.
"The elderly lady in black who had been standing, moved to take an empty seat (just emptied).
"When she's about to sit down (mind you, she's already at the seat), the mother push her son over to snatch that seat away.
"Well, maybe the mother is too tired.
"So, both mother and son got their seats and the elderly lady got a shock.
"So, another elderly gentleman (one seat away) offered his seat to the elderly lady in black.
"I'm very disappointed at the mother's action. What is she teaching her son? Manners? sigh...
"Really quite disheartening to see how will our young Singaporeans will turn out.
"For the rest of the journey till Kembagan, the mother was affectionately playing with her son's ears.. how loving.
"Well, so i'll expect to see more children snatching seats from older people since their mothers taught them that way."
