The Russian Air Force announces today that it will start inducting the initial batch of 60 T-50 advanced stealth fighters into service starting 2016. The first batch of fighters will be delivered with current technology engines. The PAK-FA is expected to have a service life of about 30–35 years.
At one third the cost of the problem-ridden F-22 Raptor (est. $ 60m vs $ 200m), the Russian is eyeing the export market starting 2020 after fulfilling the initial requirements of both the Russian and Indian Air Forces.
The joint statement claims that the aircraft is unmatched by any known or projected fighter in the world.

The Sukhoi T-50 PAK FA combines use of plasma stealth technology, heightened capabilities to counter stealth aircraft, new generation of Russian thrust vectoring engines, artificial-intelligence elements, speed Mach 2.45, superb manoeuvrability, higher capacity in dogfight manoeuvres, vertical tails fully movable, 6th generation of air-to-air, air-to-surface, and air-to-ship missiles, supercruise, higher range at supersonic speed makes it the best overall fighter in the world today.
Defence analysts have identified a number of countries as potential buyers for the PAK-FA including Algeria, Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela, Vietnam, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Libya, Malaysia and Syria. By the year 2050, defence analysts predict an export sale of 1100+ PAK-FA fighter jets.
