Spend $150 or no dinner and World Cup

I WAS with my wife and son at Clarke Quay and wanted to have dinner as well as watch the live telecast of the Argentina versus Germany game.
However, I was told that I had to spend a minimum of $150 to be allowed to dine at the King Satay Club.
There were only three of us. How could they expect us to spend $150 compared to larger groups who would also be told of the same spending requirement?
Are such restaurants allowed to set pricing rules?

Why must you go Clark Quay ? High class place pay high price wat ? Many other cheaper places available. I watch at ulu jurong Chevron...makan n drink below $50 for 4, actually no price limit lah, it is operated by Hans' , not sure the one at Chinatown has World cup.
