S'porean fined for porn video <!--10 min-->
A SINGAPOREAN man caught with a child porn video on his mobile phone at Darwin airport has been convicted and fined $5,000 reported Northern Territory News. Rahmat bin Amin, 44, had a 20-second video called '12-year-olds' on his phone, showing a young girl having sex with a man. He pleaded guilty in Darwin Magistrates Court to importing the video. His lawyer, Ms Asha McLaren, told the court a 'mischievous colleague' had sent the clip to Rahmat but he forgot to delete it before coming here. He was randomly searched when his flight arrived from Singapore on March 17 at the airport, and the video was found on his phone. Rahmat, a marine technician, travels around the world working on boats for an international company, said Northern Territory News. He and his wife, who sat in court together, have two children. Ms McLaren asked Magistrate Greg Cavanagh not to record a conviction because it could affect his ability to travel for work. He recorded a conviction and fined Rahmat $5,000.
