Spain Thread

The breakfast

Halfway through breakfast we were disrupted by a villager who wanted to bring us to see people harvesting grapes for wine. Quickly finished breakfast and took his Land Cruiser to the farm. Its body language throughout as we can't speak Spanish and this elderly man could not speak a word of English. He brought us to a group of men cutting grapes

One of them is his son supervising a group of Portuguese, Venezuelans, Peruvians etc.

A Portuguese whi could speak English told us that the man who brought us is the owner of all the vineyards we could see around us and its like hill after hill of vine yards.

We then realized that this man is a big boss. But he's very humble cutting grapes for us

We even went to his winery and tasted his wines and he gave us 2 bottles of very vintage red. Then its time to leave the village

On the way to Gateria

Did you go Bernabeu or Nou Camp ?

How could anyone visit Spain without attending a La Liga football match ? It's like going to China without visiting The Great Wall or Bangkok without Poseidon.

Fresh seafood right from the boats

Guardian of the town and fishermen

Juan Sebastian Elcano - the first man who sailed round the world is hailed from Getaria

Overlooking the town from the hill

Fishing boat

Lunch time at the most famous restaurant in town - Ecarno

Master Chef at work on their most popular dish - turbot

Grill outside the front of the restaurant

Started with some stonefish sashimi

Tuna

The V-shape part of the fish just below the mouth from a very big fish of course done in 3 ways - grilled, steam and saute, a starter plate like for 1 person this is from 4 big fishes. Meat is so very soft softer than the cheek meat of a fish

Comes the whole turbot to be shared as its more than a kilogram per fish

Every part of this fish can be eaten strange thing is each part tastes and feels different, very enjayable

Lobster grilled also shared

Has to pre book for this restaurant as its always full

The desserts
